I am not an experienced embrodiderer, but from what I can tell, this embroidery thread is comparable to more expensive brands. Great range of colors, sufficient amount of each color and the thread quality seems very nice.

In my opinion, I can never have too many embroidery floss. You never know when you need that particular shade of blue to match your material. There are 100 different colors in the package. The numbers and colors match DMC colors fairly well. I used it for blanket stitching and French knots, and the threads held up. I gave it four stars, because the 6 threads are not as tightly wound as DMC brand. I was trying to wind the floss on a bobbin, and it got tangled. It took me forever to untangle it, because the threads weren’t together as a unit. However, I think for regular, non-professional work, these will do. I wouldn’t use these for refurbishment of an 18th century needlework. The price is excellent. Yes, I would recommend.

I tend to use embroidery floss to embellish plain clothing or to "fix" a problem - like a small tear in an otherwise nice shirt, I will take a small hoop and attach it around the bad spot and then embroider a flower with leaves. No more torn spot and the shirt is now a pretty, unique wearable instead of a new rag in my dust bin. Having a rainbow of colors allows me to create just about anything I might want - this is a wonderful set to have on hand.
