As a total newbie to this whole process, I've been pleasantly surprised by how well this device seems to work. First off, setting up the dehydrator was a breeze. It came with clear instructions, and I didn't have to spend hours trying to figure out how to put it together. It's nice to start on the right foot without any frustrations. Using it was pretty straightforward too. I just sliced up some fruits and veggies, placed them on the trays, and adjusted the temperature and timer settings based on the included guide. I had some doubts about whether I was doing it right, but the dehydrator's simple controls put my mind at ease. I was a bit skeptical about how well it would actually dehydrate the food, but I was genuinely surprised by the results. After a few hours, my fruits and veggies transformed into crispy, flavorful snacks that were a hit with my family. It was like magic – I couldn't believe I had made them myself! Cleaning up was also easier than I expected. The trays and lid were dishwasher-safe, so I didn't have to spend ages scrubbing them by hand. That's a big plus in my book. I had a bumper crop of all sorts of tomatoes and decided to get on the dehydrator train and see if I could put some aside for cooking later. The dehydrator price is so low (imho) that I thought it couldn't possibly be any good but... I'm relatively pleased with it. I don't like the temp controls for two reasons: 1) I wish companies would stop using a small bump or arrow on a black dial, making it virtually impossible to see the setting. 2) this dehydrator has three temp ranges, not a specific temp you dial in. You want 135º for your use, nope, gotta guesstimate that on the black on black dial. It does do the job. The trays are not easy to clean but not terribly hard. Easy to access, but of course the food sticks in the holes in the trays. The biggest bummer is the stacking arrangement. The trays a fiddly to set and to adjust, not impossible, just a bit of a pain. After all that you might wonder if I'd buy it again, and yes, I would. The price compensates for the little things that bug me. :D ... show more

good starter food dehydrator for the money. I've used a Excalibur food dehydrator in my past life (but lost it in the divorce), what I can say is that this product doesn't have the same room but does the same job for less money. fill your trays with sliced thin fruit, or veggies and run it on high temp for 24-30 hours and your good to go.     • Great dryer for 3D Filament

This unit works well as a 3D Filament dryer. With the five shelves fully extended there is ample room to stack to 1K roles to dry concurrently. It was simple to use flush cutters to snip out the center of each of the shelves. I kept the mesh in one of the shelves allowing to place .5kg roles and desiccant packets. The temperature control was directly close, but not precise. I printed a bracket for holding a hygrometer for tuning in the temperature and confirming the humidity (before and after). I reached out about purchasing additional shelves, but was disappointed that 4 aftermarket shelves costs more than a new unit. Obviously they don't want to sell aftermarket shelves. NOTE: The shelves can be rotated to increase the height of the stack. I didn't realize at first, rather I discovered when I removed and replaced each shelf for snipping out the shelf mesh. ... show more

This is my second unit in about 3 years. The mechanical parts still work. I just had to buy it for new racks. They get flimsy and crack after a while. I mainly use this for jerky and it works but takes a long time. I need to get a stainless steel one but haven't decided to make the investment.
