I've easily made 100 batches of ice cream with this churn. The motor is strong and durable. The tub provides good insulation to keep the ice cream cylinder super-chilled and is easily cleaned. I had an issue with the paddle cracking at the top where it fits on to the bottom of the motor. Called, explained the problem and a new paddle was sent out promptly. I love this! I bought some silicon containers and use them to transfer the ice cream to the freezer when the churning is done. It’s very soft then and is a good time to add smashed Oreos! I then put it in the freezer for several hours before serving. Since it makes 6 qts there is plenty to share. It takes about 45 minutes to freeze my recipe which is heavy on the cream. ... show more

The ice cream was great. The reason it's not getting 5 stars is because the black plastic handle broke 1st time we used it. Not strong enough to lift the bucket full of ice and ice cream. You need a better design for the handle.

    • Not what we expected with this ice cream maker.

We purchased this item on March 29,2026. We made 2 batches of ice cream a week apart and everything worked great and the ice cream was delicious. Last week we decided to make another batch and about half way through the process the machine started making a very loud noise and the canister was not turning. We tried some problem solving techniques and nothing helped. We ended up throwing the mixture down the drain. We then put everything together without the ice, salt, and ingredients in the canister. It ran just fine. A week later we tried another batch and the noise was very loud and the canister was not turning properly. Again, wasted ingredients. We are not happy. I decided to purchase an ice cream attachment for my KitchenAid mixer, something I should have done in the first place. Works great! ... show more

    • Big hit with the family!

I ordered this for our summer reunion and it was perfect. We used a recipe I found online and followed the directions in the box for the Ice Cream Maker. Unboxing was easy and the Maker is quick to set up. We washed everything and started making ice cream right away. The little instruction book comes with a few recipes for different types of ice cream and we have yet to try those. With this recipe, it started to slow down and sound like it was stressing the motor after about 40 minutes. We set the timer for 45 so we turned it off early both times. The ice cream was soft serve quality and tasted amazing. We put it in glass containers and then into the freezer for about 2 hours before the kids got at it. We added strawberries for the second batch. I do recommend if you are going to add fruit make them super small when cutting. The strawberries we cut were big and they blocked the paddle so when it was done we had a big clump of strawberries. It still tasted amazing but we had to mix them with a spoon into the two containers so they were evenly distributed. The Recipe we used was 2 cups heavy cream, 2 cups half and half, 1 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla. Mix well. Also, we did not freeze the container before using it, I don't think it made a difference the second time. Love this and will make more of our own ice cream and try out new recipes. Clean-up was super easy, finding a place for it in our pantry took some moving around but we are super happy with the ice cream maker! ... show more
