    • Don't waste your money

Okay I have had this coffee urn for several weeks, (about three so far) Even after adjusting the amount of coffee, it still is not as good as it was. Now this morning I noticed a very slow drip of water coming from the spout, (you press the toggle thingy back, so that the coffee comes out. Or you can flip it up for a continuous pour) Anyway it should not be dripping water at all. Not condensation, since I never had that problem before. I am not waiting for it to become major problem. After today I am tossing it and going back to my old tried and true Hamilton Beach 12 cup urn. Always made great coffee and never let me down. Even if I need to make a couple of pots a day to meet out needs, it is better than these urns that have not lasted more than a year and a half at the most, (In my opinion they are all garbage) I don't get it, my folks had a 45 cup urn while I was growing. That thing just never quit, and there were two adults and one teenager drinking coffee in the house. And another thing, what the heck is this crap where it recycles to reheat the coffee, yes I can see it, but every twenty minutes or so is a bit much. Nope going back to tried and true. Simple urn. Can dispense holding cup pushing against spout or pull spout for a continuous pour into a carafe. Keeps coffee hot without “overcooking” it. Uses 2 cups of ground coffee for a full 40 cup.

Wonderful coffee maker!! I bought it as a replacement for the old one which kicked the habit after many years. I made sure I had it long enough for it to stop working as the other reviewers have complained. The issue with this is simple: it needs to be cleaned! And, big surprise! Cleaning is quite easy! Put white vinegar in the bottom of the urn, let it soak for a little while (I did 2 hour intervals until I could see the stainless color again), then scrubbed with a baby bottle brush, and it worked just fine!
