  • The ideal guide for Georgia car campers.
Georgia is fortunate to have an excellent state park system as well as several other National Park campgrounds and Johnny Molloy has visited them all and created an easy to follow rating system that allows you to select the perfect campground and even specific campsites for you and your family. I've been a follower of Johnny's books for years and he really gets what us car campers are looking for. He also has books covering many other states and regions and they are just as informative as this book is. This book is not aimed at RVers, as the title implies (but there's plenty of general information on the campgrounds that would be of interest to them as well), but designed for campers searching for campgrounds where they can camp right out of their cars or, in some cases, with a short hike to their sites. Rated by Beauty, Privacy, Spaciousness, Quiet, Security and Cleanliness so you can dial in just the camping experience you're looking for. Highly recommended for Georgia tent campers. ... show more

  • Not to many great places to camp in Georgia
These books are critical for road trips! Not to many great places to camp in Georgia, but the ones that are great are in here.

  • One of the Best in Campground Books
Most campground books give information on camping based on RV's. It is really difficult to find good information for tent camping. But this book gives wonderful descriptions of camp sites, trails, facilities, and other activities from the viewpoint of a tent camper. He tells which sites are the most enjoyable for people that like to experience nature and want to avoid concrete jungles. Each campground listed has a small illustration showing the camp sites and surrounding area. I especially like the ratings for beauty, privacy, spaciousness, quiet, security, and cleanliness. It is also very handy to have the information about nearby trails. I do wish the numbers on the state map showing the location of the campgrounds were bigger. I had to use a magnifying glass to see the numbers. Even so, this book is a definite "MUST" for all tent campers headed to Georgia. ... show more

  • Pretty good but outdated now
Need a newer version! Dates of opening are all wrong...some roads are closed etc. some parks have become over run with RVs, trash, too close together sites, etc.

  • good book
great book. It's hard to find camp grounds which are good for tent camping (we've learned the hard way), so this book is perfect for us. It's well written. We haven't went to any of these campgrounds, so I can't comment on accuracy or the author's opinions.

  • Three Stars
Information about FD Roosevelt State Park is dated. Many of the tent-friendly sites there are in disrepair.
