Works good, you just need to get used to the setting knob

For this price this is a good deal. It toasts evenly and has a relatively modest foot print (it is not a fat toaster). My only minor complaint is that the knob indicator is super hard to see. I did fix that just by sticking on a thin sliver of white Dymo label maker tape to indicate the position.

I’m impressed, it’s so small and light I thought this can’t be good, plus it was not expensive at all. But I have to say I really like it! It’s a toaster and it toasts my bread perfectly! What more could I want?

A little disappointed

We got this toaster after I looked at every one available on Amazon. It is good quality as far as materials and construction. It should last a long time. The biggest weak point for longevity may be the digital display but I won't know that until time goes by. The main reason we were replacing our old toaster was because it did not toast English muffins evenly and we would have to partially toast a muffin and then rotate it to finish off the untested part. This toaster was perfect for that initially but after a few weeks it is doing the same as our previous toaster so I have to rotate the muffin to get it all consistency toasted. I really don't need the digital display. And, it is hard to set the temp. The display/time does not react to the control knob changes so you have to fiddle with it while it jumps around. I'm not sure it will give as much time as every one might want for something that needs extra toasting. It goes to 3.5min and you have to put it down again and watch it to get more toasting. It is consistent except for the initial setting. We don't change the setting since we really only do muffins but if you wanted to change it all the time that might be an issue. It may just be the one we got but don't know. I tried using the button to give extra time for frozen items, like frozen waffles. It didn't seem to have any difference so I don't use it. It does pop items up fine (not too high). The clean out drawer for crumbs that fall down works like other toasters. I was disappointed in how hard it was to find a toaster with good ratings. This was the best for a reasonable price. Not totally happy though. I'm not sure why it toasted the whole muffin right originally but it doesn't now. On/off lever broke first time.

Looked good but the first time I pushed the "toast lever" down it broke off. Got it to work using plyers, but it doesn't toast each side evenly. There are only 2 heating elements. Both on the outside....none in the middle...so you have to flip the bread over to toast both sides. Gonna pay the money and get a better one. ... show more

Basic Toaster- Gets the Job Done

The Elite Gourmet 2-Slice Cool Touch Toaster**is a pretty average toaster, but it gets the basic job done. It has 6 browning levels, which is nice if you like to control how light or dark your toast gets. In everyday use, it works reliably and toasts bread the way you’d expect without anything complicated. One feature I really like is the cancel button, which lets you stop the toasting early if the bread is getting done faster than expected. It’s simple, but it’s convenient and something I end up using often. The crumb tray is another good feature. It slides out easily, so cleaning the toaster is quick and simple. The only downside is that it fills up fairly fast, so you’ll need to empty it regularly if you use the toaster often. The 1.25-inch wide slots are helpful for thicker breads or bagels. They aren’t extremely wide, but honestly they feel about right—I can’t imagine them being much narrower without causing problems. Looks clean. I have the black one which goes well with black appliances. Overall, it’s nothing fancy, but it’s easy to use, easy to clean, and does the basic job of toasting bread well. I want my muffins toasted

Purchased the Elite Gourmet two sliced toaster about a week ago, arrived quickly, and I was amazed at how good it looked sitting on my microwave. I love the countdown timer, very nice feature and I like the warming rack. Not as happy with the actual toasting, which is why I bought it two toast , At first it seemed to work very well, but within a couple of uses, it started toasting unevenly, the bagel setting worked great, wide enough and only toasted the one side but the very next regular piece of bread I put in there only toasted on one side like it was stuck on the bagel setting, tried to quite a few more times to make sure that it just didn’t need to get warmed up a little and it kept toasting uneven, the last thing I toasted was whole wheat English muffin, and I had it almost maxed out on the dial, and it barely got brown,very disappointed in this toaster. ... show more
