Great For Travel/It Became My Own Personal Item

I recently flew and I took my dog with me and she was considered my "personal item" and went under the seat in front of me. Because of that, I couldn't have a personal item bag to keep some of my flight necessities with me so I ordered this vest to use in place of a personal item bag since it has lots of pockets. I really like this vest and highly recommend it for travel. It has two front deep pockets with zippers, one breast pocket with a zipper, one back pocket with a zipper and two inside deep pockets. Using this vest, it became my own wearable "personal item" on the plane! I used the pockets to keep all the following items with me: my wallet, cell phone, reading glasses in their case, phone charging cord and juice jack blocker in a small case, gum, pen, word search puzzle, tissues, and as small bag of dog treats. Everything fit and I did't feel too weighed down with everything in the pockets and I felt secure knowing that my wallet and phone were on me instead of packed away in another bag. I love the different colors that this vest comes in and I had a hard time deciding which color to choose. The vest is very soft and the fabric is good quality and it also has some stretch to it. It looks very nice on and the zippers work well and do not get stuck or snag. The only part I don't care for is the high collar but I just tuck that down when I am wearing it. I now wear this vest when I take my dogs to agility training and I am able to put their treats in a small baggie in the front pockets and I can easily reach for them when we are training. The pockets are deep enough that I don't worry about the bag of treats spilling out. My sister trains with her dog too and I told her to buy one of these vests for training and so she bought one also. I used the size chart when I ordered the vest and although it does fit to size, I would have liked it if it was a little bit loser when I zip it up, so I should have gone up a size since it is a little bit tighter than I would like it to feel.

Great travel vest or lightweight outdoor layer

This is a great travel vest with six large pockets for storing things you may need during check-in, on the plane, or just items that wouldn't fit in your bag. This vest could take the place of a purse, letting you pack your purse in your suitcase or personal item. The pockets are roomy and any items in them surprisingly don't show very much. I ordered it after seeing YT "Travel Tips by Laurie" recommend it. No need to pay $200 for a high brand travel vest unless you want a zillion little pockets. This one has more pockets than I will use. The zip pockets hold a large wallet and much more. Laurie even put a fabric crossbody purse in one of the front zip pockets. The deep inside slip pockets will easily hold an 8" tablet. The chest zip pocket is also large and wide. Unlike some reviews, the pockets in mine don't have any slits at the bottom for small things to drop through. The quality seems excellent for the price and the vest looks better than I anticipated. The neck is high but is soft and doesn't bother me. The zippers glide smoothly so far. I love the lightweight, smooth, somewhat stretchy fabric. I think it would be fine even in summer over a short sleeve tee. I don't think I could wear it without a top under it because the armholes are large on me. Otherwise it seems true to size. The size chart may be the garment measurements, not body measurements; not sure. I first ordered the size Amazon recommended (XL), despite the size chart measurements seeming too big for me, and it was too large. I went down a size (to Large) and it fits well with a little room to spare, zipped or unzipped, with or without several items in the pockets. My bust measures 42" for reference. It is very slightly shaped just enough that it doesn't look boxy. The Cool Gray color is a lovely very pale cool gray just as it appears on the product page. As some others have mentioned, I'm not crazy about a big logo on my backside and would prefer a smaller one at the hem instead, but there are no words or letters in it and it is light colored, so hopefully not too glaring. I like the 33,000 brand and I have a lightweight rain jacket in the brand. Highly recommend this if you want a casual pocketed travel vest for carrying multiple items, and that still looks trim and neat, not like you're going fishing. It would be good for running, cycling, hiking, etc., too, and has reflective accents and is water resistant.

Super comfy, practical, good for travel and casual wear.

I have had this vest for nearly a year and I absolutely love it. It replaces years of using fishing and other types of vests with pockets- and it is cute! I happily wear this as an extra layer- not just for travel. But it is fantastic for travel- just the right number of pockets, which keep all my valuables organized going through check in and security- and allow me to off-load a bit of weight from my carryon if necessary! The material is lovely- feels good on, adds a bit of warmth when needed, but was also still comfortable worn open during a trip to VietNam in the summer. I never spend this much on a piece of clothing (I am a thrift shop kind of gal), but this was well worth the money (on sale for $32). When I saw it featured on the blog Travel tips by Laurie, on sale before I was about to do a lot of travelling, I decided to go for it, and I am so glad I did. Just a note on sizing- I am 5 ft, 100 pounds- and wasn't sure if I should get the small or extra small. I am really happy i went with the extra small- it is plenty big around and still a bit long on me.

Finally decided the limitations outweighted all the good

I ordered a Medium in Black. I am about 5'5" and weigh about108, so I am sort of "lean" with a full chest. I was really excited due to the fact that a YTer is using this vest. It fit me very well, definitely tapered at the waist. The material is a heavier 100% polyester as opposed to being thin very light. It is very well made. However, one side of the stand up collar bothered me, the collar top on the side of the breast zip pocket. The zipper is covered by a "fold" of material and it made that side of the collar seem "lumpy" and it rubbed my neck/jawline area. I tried folding the collar down, but that side still stuck out awkwardly. The pockets didn't cut if for me. The two zippered "hand warmer" pockets are fine but I just didn't really like the slit pocket at my shoulder. It is pretty deep going toward the side of the vest, but if you have a larger phone, it's an awkward fit. I'm not sure it would be very useful because I put in a couple of smaller items but I didn't find it very well positioned and I wasn't using the full space in the pocket. The two large inner pockets are OK BUT, there is no velcro and no zippers. I was hoping I could put some important things in a vest which could then move through screening at an airport easily. However, those pockets didn't make me feel secure. There is not way to sew velcro on because there is no lining. I thought of "Liquid Stitch" to use to affix velcro but didn't want to get involved with this. There is a nice zippered pocked on the lower back of the vest, but since the vest is long, I found sitting with something in the back a bit much unless I only put small items in it, again not using the full space in the pocket. Also, my vest came with a logo on the lower back which I didn't love. This vest has reflective qualities which would be great if I were running or walking in the dark. I don't do this so this is not something I need. My need is more for travel at this point, so I will return this vest. I do have a lighter weight vest and have ordered a couple of more...they are men's...The one I have fits very well and I would keep it if the other two which are a different material don't work out. These all have more pockets as they are more utility vests but they are not over the top AND they all have zippered interior pockets, which is very important to me. In summary...this 33000ft vest is a well-crafted item that could be good for the right person!

Wow! Quality zip pockets, 4(!) of them, in a quality mid-weight vest, great length for 5'4 person

Sizing- Well, you need to consider 2 different sizes depending on your purpose If you wear this as a travel vest, pockets crammed full of stuff, you need to size up a bit, so pockets won't bulge and the garment hangs well. But for daily wear, if wanting to look slimmer and trimmer, best to size down a bit, and to recognize you can't carry so much in the pockets in a vest that fits snugly. I'm 5'4 and 130, usually US size M in outerwear when (and only when) I wear them form-fitting, especially if over just one thin layer of clothing on warmer days. I bet a size M in this vest would fit me ideally on a day like that and look great. (I may need to order one and find out!) I'm size L for cool weather outerwear that's zipped shut in front over multiple layers, and when filling the pockets with stuff and the garment needs to hang right without bulging. This vest in size L is ideal for those purposes. Colors: I got 2 colors, the one that's practically white, and this medium gray (I think they call it "light gray.") Both colors seem just as in the photos. Pockets!!: The 4 zipper pockets are fabulous. The zippers are cleanly finished and the semi-stiff, semi-flexible fabric makes them seem to just disappear when not in use. Makes the vest look very sleek. Even when filled, the pockets somehow don't look as bulge-y as they would in a thin fabric. The single chest pocket will actually hold a phone or wallet. So many manufacturers only give you enough room for a chapstick or driver's license! The back pocket will hold a lot, however, it makes the contents bump against me awkwardly while moving, so personally I'll only use it for very lightweight items like headphones, or soft things like those hat/gloves you want to bring "just in case." The 2 hardwarmer pockets are roomy enough for phone, wallet, keys, even a somewhat oversize sunglasses case (the big but not huge size), while also still deep enough for your hands. Armholes: They are cut beautifully, at least for me -- they magically somehow do not gape, unlike so many big-name vests I have tried on, and yet I can wear them over a thick hoodie. I can't tell you how nice it is to find this feature in an item I took an internet gamble on. I suppose this means they might be too tight if you are a person who does prefer deep armholes, we're all different after all. Length: comes exactly to the top of my 29/30 pants inseam. Collar: The standup neck does kinda poke your chin as you move. I know this bothers some folks, it bothers me too, but can't be helped if you want wind protection for your neck, which I do. I've never seen a softshell garment that isn't this way. Pro tip, try a lightweight scarf. Fabric: Just a lovely fabric, ideal for spring or fall, though probably not for the heat of summer. The right trade-off between stiffness and drapey-ness so that it hangs down and stays in place, not flimsy, but not heavy either. Description claims that this fabric "breathes," but I just cannot imagine that's true. Definitely feels soft against your skin. Does rustle a bit as you move, good to be warned if that's a turn-off for you. The texture is minimally shiny, so that it will fit in with your normal casual wear without looking explicitly athletic. Actually quite classy, imho. I would say both these color versions have as matte a texture as a wind-proof fabric can possibly have. In conclusion, great product, I'd give these many, many more stars than just 5 if I could

Well Made, Beautiful Vest

I bought this vest along with a fleece jacket and lightweight raincoat for a trip to Europe in order to layer them as needed. My mother and side bought Scottevests for about 5 times more than I paid for this one. I feel this 33,000ft vest is just as well made! My mother even offered to buy a Scottevest for me and I could not justify that for a vest I was not sure I would wear much after the trip to Europe. I love this 33,000ft vest and will definitely wear it other than for possible future trips. I also did not see a need for so many pockets! I feel this 33, 000ft has just enough posters with six total. The only thing I did to mine was add Velcro to the two inside front pockets just to help keep from having anything fall out of them when the vest is off. This accounts for the two rectangular areas of stitching visible in the photograph. To help with comparing colors; the raincoat was described as being “purple.” It is a pastel purple/pinkish color depending on lighting and what it is up against. The fleece jacket under the vest was described as “lavender” color. In my opinion is it pastel purple or lavender. This 33,000ft vest was described as also being “lavender” color. I would not agree since it has a lot of gray in it. It’s a gorgeous light purple/grayish color, just not what I would call “lavender.” Size seems a bit off to me. I had to return my first one and go up a size. My normal size seemed a bit tight through the bust in the this brand. It made it a bit too snug and not as comfortable as I prefer. Going up a size was almost too much, but it does give the option of not just wearing it under the fleece jacket, but over it if I prefer. Kind of a nice option. I almost like it over the fleece jacket better. (1) Because using the pockets for wallet, passport, etc., it’s easier to get to. (2) there’s not the extra fabric around the sleeve hole. Having to up a size for the bust line resulted in the armhole having excess fabric. I debated doing a dart for that, but decided it would be more noticeable than leaving as is. It’s a nice lightweight. The style is nice and the fabric has good wind resistance. Washability wise, while I would have preferred not having to hang it up to dry, it was not a deal breaker. It is highly reflective. I could have used a bit less there, but it sure made my mother happy! Mom’s 89 and still worries about my sister’s and my safety, probably more because she wants to make sure we’re around to care for her. So, at least my being so reflective wearing this vest she’s appeased.

Not a travel hack vest

It's not bad, but I was hoping to use it for travel and it misses its mark. It's a good every day vest if you need to bring a few things for a walk etc without bringing your purse... But for travel, it's not quite enough. There are only 4 zippered pockets - 3 on the front of the vest and one on the back. the inside ones are just large fabric pockets with no zipper or snaps and they are not stitched all the way through, so if you accidentally put something small in there, like your airpods case, it will fall out. The inner pockets will only hold something like kindle or a small book... Plus they are placed exactly where the two side front pockets are, so if you stuff both - front and inner pocket it's going to bulge. What would make this vest great is 1) another chest pocket on the front, with zipper, 2) inner chest pockets with zippers or snaps 3) zippers or snaps on the existing inner pockets that should be seamed all the way through to make them secure.

Don't like collar

Great vest and pockets. Inside pockets don't zip up. The collar is very high to keep out wind but isn't comfortable. Had to sew top edges down for a lapel effect. Nice fabric and good fit.
