Ok, let me start by saying I own or have owned 8 various fdm printers, this is my first Elegoo, decided to give them a shot, and man-o-man, what a great decision by me that should have been made earlier! Prints great, no build adhesion issues, no stringing, no issues period. Magnetic build plate is great, moveable control panel is great, noise level is low, no fiddling with CURA settings required, get great prints with default. These aren't really cons, but I'll list a few things that were not ideal: Assembly requires a little time and effort, and the build plate is so big and heavy you will probably need a helper to turn it on its side to attach frame. Takes up a lot of space, so be ready for that. Still has the micro usb chip/card, just like every other FDM printer I have owned, why don't they just charge a few more bucks and use normal thumb drive like my resin printers. Lastly, though I have had no issues as of yet printing non-stop for a week, it appears that if this thing clogs there is going to be a tough time doing maintenance as everything is enclosed. And I am sure that eventually there will be a clog. At that time, I will update the review, and let you know how bad fixing it is. I should note, that I am printing small terrain pieces on this thing and the print quality is absolutely great, so it does well on small stuff, but the build plate is large enough to do huge stuff as well. I have noticed that you can get away with far less supports on this printer, not sure if that is due to the default CURA settings or the lack of vibrations, but I love it. So yeah, buy it. Update: When assembling, I thought the filament run out sensor was flimsy and was very skeptical. Tested the filament run out sensor last night, ran out in the middle of the night, reloaded in morning, absolutely no issues, can't even see a layer line where the new spool starts! Update 2: When printing lower layers of large items, the printhead cable sometimes drags across the build plate. The clip they provide is weak and not designed well. Haven't had a print damaged from this yet, but it definitely needs improvement, a retractable string loop at the top of the frame would work better. ... show more

    • Absolutely amazing printer!
I’ve been into 3D printing since 2015. I remember the days of cheap knockoff systems that required hours of assembly, over-reliance on Facebook groups for troubleshooting, and even the potential for fires. Nearly a decade later and I get my hands on the Neptune 3 Max. This thing is an absolute beast. Assembly was a speedy affair, taking roughly fifteen minutes. Once assembled, loading filament was a breeze, and the test print on the SD card was knocked out in about 45 minutes. Overall quality of the printer is robust. It’s a beefy machine and feels absolutely premium. What’s more: it’s ridiculously quiet. Aside from the part-cooling fan, you barely hear anything at all as it goes about its business. In the week since I’ve had it, it’s been nearly non-stop printing and I’ve only bothered verifying the initial layer maybe once or twice. Elegoo has a new fan in their camp, and I look forward to adding more of their machines to my arsenal. ... show more

    • Buyer beware
The media could not be loaded. At first I was in love with this printer. Unfortunately after three prints I received a nozzle low temp warning. Doing research I found this to be an issue with the hot end thermistor assembly. I contacted Elegoo for help after four days of emails they agreed to send me a new hotbed assembly. They said it would take 15-20 to receive. :(. I figured this was just a fluke so based off the initial print quality I decided to buy another one for my small business. The second printer decided to give me the same warning on the second print. So now I have two brand new printers that have the same issue after less than three total prints. I regret the purchases. Maybe your experience will vary. I however will never buy from Elegoo again. ... show more

    • masterpiece of a printer
I just started using it and it was easy to set up, level, and print. It's so quiet too. I used a gcode file for first print and it was a little slow, as it paused 4 seconds before each stepping up but surely you can speed it up and it comes with a Cura special for Elegoo printers that I haven't tried yet. Nice how the extruder is in the head. The instructions were very good but they could be better and larger. My experience with other printers helped me get past vagueness in instructions. Print quality is superior to any other of the many printers I have used. Very happy so far. I will be extremely happy if it has the stamina to get through 4 and 5 day prints regularly.     • Absolutely massive.
This printer is great so far! Setup takes about an hour if you take your time, and it starts producing good quality prints pretty much out of the box, but there is room for adjustment if you want really good results. In some aspects my old ender 3 pro printed better, but I’m sure this will get there, it’s only been a day. Otherwise, just know that this thing is massive. I got the MAX, and the base alone is over 2’x2’, and nearly 50 lbs, the only place I can currently fit it is my floor. ... show more

I haven't bought a 3D printer in 6 or so years, all I have to say is wow. Setting it up was super easy, everything is packed well and the screws are labeled. There's a youtube video that walks through the assembly as easy as possible. Did a quick bed level, and my first 8 decent sized prints have come out with zero issue. Haven't really needed to troubleshoot or tweak anything to get some really great results. ... show more

Decent prints. Zero home was way off center. Printed purge line off of printer bed. Got tired of re leveling after prints. Not pleased with Elegoo products. 2 bad printers within couple of weeks. Done with Elegoo products.
