Description

ELEGOO photopolymer resin is a type of polymer that changes its physical properties when introduced to light and it’s VOC free resin. In the case of 3D printing, these are typically liquid plastic resins that harden when exposed to a light source, such as a laser, a lamp, a projector or light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and most of these light sources irradiate ultraviolet (UV) light, which works perfectly with our photocuring resin. • Lot of quality with little stink.
Color: Maroon 1000g
This resin is great! Compared to other resins it doesn't have a strong odor, less hazard compared to other brands (still wear gloves and clean up!) and it comes out beautiful. Though the resin is pretty sticky/syrupy compared to other brands.

  • Updated 2022 - Works great with very few failed starts and great results
Color: Grey 500g
My original review stood for two years, but within the last few months elegoo has changed just about everything regarding their resin. Literally the packaging is now cheap light weight boxes, the resin has a different thicker consistency, and the cure time is varying from one bottle to another. I am now running an ebay business manufacturing model parts that I have designed to upgrade scale model kits or to be used by gamers, so I am going through several bottles of resin a week. These changes were over a period of a few months, but after a several bottles of wasted prints, and worse the time involved to find the issue, I decided it was finally time to try a different resin. I have since swapped to Anycubic, which is more like elegoo used to be. Your experiences may vary, as little as a single degree in temperature can make a difference in results, but in my situation of running 4 printers 24 x 7 and shipping a dozen orders a week, I could no longer take rhe risk and had to make the swap. Hopefully my original review didn't miss lead anyone! Original review follows: To be fair, this is the only resin I have used, I started with it since I bought an Elegoo brand 3D printer and figured for the first few bottles I would use their brand to be safe. Since then, I have continued to buy just this resin. The color choices are great, I have used the grey, white, black, and clear red so far and they have all been great. I have had very few failed starts on my prints, and they may have had nothing to do with the resin. The reasons I have only bought this resin are: - The low odor is hardly noticeable to me, the 90% IPA actually has a MUCH more noticeable odor than the resin, and as I use this in the house in my hobby room that is very important to me, well, my wife really, but that is what matters. ; ] - The price is neither the lowest nor the highest out there, so I feel it is a fair value. - The print results have been really great, I will attach a few photos to the review. - I figure I have a good thing going, so why mess with it. The only things I have noticed with this resin so far are that: - It is very important to check the exposure times for the resin before printing, some of the darker colors take more seconds per layer. - The white resin sometimes has visible layer lines in the final print. You can not feel them, nor see them when painted, but when it is just the bare resin they are sometimes visible. - You will want a cure light if you live anywhere that you don't have access to a fair amount of sunshine. I am in the Pacific North West, and left a print in the window sill for a week and it was still not fully cured. But under a UV light on a turn table it is done in 5 to 6 minutes for most prints. If I learn anything else, or start to experience different results I will update this review. ... show more

  • Works great!
Works fantastically and has a much more mild smell compared to the anycubic resins. I used it with the Anycubic photon and found very little post-processing necessary with most pieces. (Complex prints might need more) To share my settings: Layer thickness: .025mm Exposure time: 7.5 seconds Off time: 3.5 seconds Bottom exposure time: 90 seconds Bottom layers: 3 (haven’t tried less) ... show more

  • GREY > Translucent
Color: Translucent 1000g
The print quality is BEAUTIFUL in terms of detail, but the colors vary drastically. The yellowing is a bit too much and hard to avoid on the translucent but the real issue is that it tends to warp prints from the bottom. When it comes to the translucent, make sure you let your prints dry all the way(you can leave them for like up to 12 hours) before curing, or they will cure unevenly. The grey is much easier to work with, has perfect detail, and is everything you would want if you're just going to make molds or paint it. Where the translucent seems better is overall strength. Just removing the supports on the grey might cause little dimples where they were so be extra careful. The scent definitely lingers for a WHILE and is a bit strong but honestly not that bad, just a bit of a metallic chemical kind of smell. ... show more

  • Great results
It worked very good. This is my very first print on my Elegoo mars printer and it stuck well to the build surface. It does have an odor that kinda resembles play dough but stronger. The sent doesn't bother me, and since its my first time to use this type of product I have nothing to compare to how strong the fumes are. It was super easy to use. Load the print file, pour in the resin, press print, and 3hrs later I had my prints. It can get messy, so gloves and lots of paper towels was used. I wasnt sure how brittle the prints were but found out it was tough enough to survive my jabs using the plastic puddy knife without any breaks, cracks, or chips. After it released it bounced across the table without damage. Next time I'll use a fluffed up rag underneath to catch the prints. After I cleaned it up I was hooked. I'll be printing many many more things in the future. ... show more

  • My favorite general-use Resin
Color: Grey 1000g
I go through about a liter a month of this stuff. It's a good workhorse. Prints detail out well and cleans up as well as any other resin, and the smell isn't the worst. The smell is by no means great but better than some other resins I've used. I've used IPA, Denatured Alcohol, and LA's Totally Awesome Degreaser to clean prints and all work, although I still dunk the part in alcohol after the LA's to make sure any stickiness is gone. I use this in my Two Phrozens and the general Phrozen Grey profile works fine for this stuff. ... show more

  • Great Quality for Price
Color: Grey 1000g
We ordered this to print master dice for resin moulds, as well as 3D miniatures and terrain. So far we’ve had no issues as far as adhesion or curing. The print quality is very good, fine details are easily seen. It does get warm while it’s curing, but that’s to be expected. The gray color is good for being a base to paint over. ... show more
