We used this beach tent for our family, and it comfortably fit 4 to 5 people. It was very easy to set up and lightweight to carry. The canopy provides extra shade, which was great on hot sunny days, and the UPF 50+ protection really helped keep us cool. It stayed stable on the beach and gave us plenty of room for chairs, towels, and bags. I was delighted by how easy this was to put together and easily fit two adults for a beach picnic date. It was a windy day and I was able to put it together by myself while my husband went to the restroom. I wanted to buy a pop-up or EZ-up tent, but they wouldn’t have arrived in time for my plans, so I got this instead thinking I might have to return it; but no, it’s a keeper. I followed the included directions (attached to the inside of the bag), except that while I laid it out, I put sand in the perimeter sand bags to keep it still/in place, which worked like a charm. Looking forward to using it again for more beach days. If I wanted to go camping, however, this would be cozy for my husband and me, and could likely fit a double or queen size air mattress but nothing else. So I’d opt for a bigger tent for camping, to fit more stuff inside. But that’s a personal choice. ... show more

I bought this for our family vacation to Siesta Key. Easy up, easy down. Perfect for getting a break out of the sun and keeping things dry. Fit in my duffle bag carry-on for our flight to Florida. I wasn’t sure about flying with the metal stakes, so I didn’t take them and was a little concerned about it blowing away on the beach. The sand bags kept it weighed down even in higher winds. The sides have windows that you can close for more privacy. The front completely closes and the back opens up allowing more air flow and easy clean out. I recently purchased the Elegear Beach Tent Sun Shelter with high hopes, but it turned out to be a major letdown. Here are the main issues I encountered: False Advertising: This tent is not an instant pop-up as advertised. Setting it up was a nightmare! The so-called "easy setup" took over 30 minutes and required more than one person. If you're looking for a quick and hassle-free beach setup, this is not it. Very Small: Despite being marketed as a 4-5 person tent, it barely fits two adults comfortably. There’s no way a family of four or five could fit in here without feeling cramped and uncomfortable. The size is extremely misleading. Difficult to Install and Uninstall: The process of installing and uninstalling the tent is frustratingly complex. The instructions were vague and unhelpful, and it took multiple attempts to get it right. Taking it down was equally troublesome and made the whole experience stressful. Poor Quality and Durability: The material feels cheap, and the tent doesn’t seem built to last. The so-called double silver coating and UPF 50+ UV protection feel like gimmicks. The fabric is thin and didn’t provide adequate sun protection, and I’m worried it won’t hold up for more than a few uses. Value for Money: Given all these issues, the tent is definitely not worth the price. For the amount I paid, I expected a product that delivers on its promises. Unfortunately, this tent fails on almost every front. Overall, I regret this purchase and wouldn’t recommend the Elegear Beach Tent Sun Shelter to anyone. Save your money and invest in a better quality tent that truly offers ease of use and comfort. ... show more

Overall, we really enjoyed using this beach tent, but there are a couple of design improvements that would make it even better. When the tent is fully anchored, the front zipper sits directly in the sand, so sand easily gets into the zipper and causes it to jam, making it difficult to open and close. We also found that the shaded front extension is difficult to keep securely anchored on windy beach days. During one outing, the wind caused one of the anchors to come apart, and we nearly lost it. A more secure anchoring system for the front shade would make the tent much more reliable in breezy conditions. Despite these issues, the tent provides great shade and is otherwise easy to use.
