Especially once surrounded by your loved ones. Pick a safe non flammable unpopulated open area, light it up and step back. Let the lava rock burn off until it stops exploding. Extremely dangerous.

First off, operationally, this works perfect. It has great heat output and is big enough for 6-8 people to sit around. The hose is long enough to keep the propane well away. The gas adjustment is easy with the dial on the side. You do need a match or lighter to start it. However there are a couple of things that need improvement. 1. I dumped the dusty heavy lava rock that came with it and put some fake logs in place of the rock. This works great and the fake logs weigh a ton less. Would be nice if it just came with the fake logs to begin with. 2. There is no cover or handle of any kind. It would be AWESOME to have a fire pit that had a removable metal cover that doubled as a carry handle. Because this has no cover or handle, I’m just using the cardboard box it came in when transporting this thing. That box won’t last forever. If it had both of those items, this would be a definite 5-star.

We have fire restrictions in our local mountains due to dry weather. Been doing a lot of off grid camping since the country shut down. Camping is just not the same without a fire. Got a Camplux Outdoor gas fire-pit and we love it. We did however get a small gas fireplace log kit so it would look a bit more authentic. Amazed on how much heat this little pit put out on the very chilly evenings. One 5 gallon tank last us the entire four day camp. We also put a round grill rack on it and used it for boiling water and we brewed our morning coffee on it as well. A couple of times we had it on for over four hours at a time. Love it a lot.

Everything is as advertised so far, had it on one hunting trip and the heat output was more than I expected, easy to move around. On high you will burn through a lot of propane so be prepared.

Love this fire pit! This is a super heavy duty steel unit with heavy duty control knob for adjustment and super long hose for propane tank. So easy to light and use for heat source when I am doing work in the garage!
