I had been looking into a standalone burner like this for awhile. In my kitchen, my stovetop is set in the island and the sink is along the wall. I have balance issues and is is not feasible for me to be able to dump pasta safely with this current setup. Therefore, the hot plate can be a solution for this problem. I can set it up right next to the sink and be able to drain pasta myself. Also, I am thinking of remodeling my kitchen and this burner will be very useful during the remodel. The hot plate looks great and is easy to use. It has 10 different levels just like my regular stovetop. It works well. As others have stated, the light indicating the surface is hot goes off a bit early but as long as you know this, you can handle it. Overall, this is a nice quality and versatile product.

We had an induction cook plate and it worked great for making breakfast or lunch when we wanted. The issue I had was having the right pot or pan to use on that cook plate. It also started having some issues so figured it was a good idea to get a replacement. This cook plate does the job. It heats up fairly quick. The 1-10 power settings is nice so you can control the heat. I like that I can now use whatever pot or pan I want. No more having to find the correct pan. It works with anything! I have two issues with this item. 1. The warning light signaling that the surface is still hot turns off to quickly. It was too hot to touch and I have very little feelings in my fingers when it comes to heat. I can usually hold most items that are too hot for others. My wife jokes that I have no feelings... in my fingers. This could be a dangerous item to have around young kids. 2. Immediately after removing the item from the box, I heard something rattling inside. I was eventually able to get the piece out and was able to determine that it was plastic from one of the screw mounts holding it together. While not vital for operation, it is still disappointing that the quality craftsmanship is poor during assembly. Overall, this is a nice cooktop and I will use it as I planned but will be sure to let my coworkers know that it may still be hot even when the light is off.

I use this a little differently than some. I use it to melt paraffin wax that I then mix ingredients in to make custom smoke bombs. It is great for this since I can take it to my workshop and not make a mess in the kitchen. The flat top makes it very easy to clean up as well. It heats up quickly and evenly. It does take a while to cool down, but so does my kitchen stove so I think that might just be the nature of glass top stoves.

The media could not be loaded. This infrared counter top hot plate is AMAZING! 10 heating levels allowing for more precise cooking temperatures is a blessing in itself. So if you need a rolling boil or a light simmer, this hot plate can handle it. Constructed of ceramic and glass, it is both durable and sleek looking. The fan will automatically kick on once the heating element comes on. It’s great for all types of pots and pans including stainless steel, cast iron, ceramic and even my large wok! It has built in safety measures to avoid over heating. It will display a certain error code should this happen. It has not displayed anything so far. The heating surface is even all over! And having an extra burner for large meals or when hosting holidays is almost a necessity. Once turned off, it displays a “hot” warning indicating the surface is still hot. It did go off quite quickly though as a lot of the heat was dispersed in a short time. Even though the light went off, it was still quite warm, so I’d wait an additional 15 minutes before putting it away. If you’re someone with a large family or host a lot of events, this is a kitchen necessity. Plus with it being lightweight it’s easy to transport to a cookout or holiday function. Highly recommend!

Good portable cooktop for casual use. It heats up relatively quick to the desired power. Only the center/cook part heats up even at the highest setting, which is great. One down side I found was the noise. It is relatively low due to the fan to cool down surrounding. Other than that, it is great. When powering off, need to wait about 2 minutes for it to completely cool down by the fan. As long as you are not in a hurry or anticipated off means absolutely no heat, then it is fine. If you think once off and heat is off, well, don't burn yourself.
