Beautiful electric fireplace. 1. The architectural details are quite nice. 2. The black birdcage is made of a thick plastic, but it doesn't cheapen the look. 3. The top is a dark brown, while the front of the fireplace is black. It can work, depending on your other furniture and decor. 4. The way it is assembled left an uneven gap in the front, directly above the fireplace unit. It was rather unsightly, so I patched it and painted it. That, however, meant that I had to paint the entire unit. It worked out in my case because I wanted it to look like a built in and it was a different shade of white than the area I wanted to put it. 5. It is WHITE. Most people don't realize that a lot of their furnishings and walls aren't actually a white, white. This is! 6. The fireplace has some faux logs that light up and behind them is a mirrored glass panel that has the 'flames.' The panel will reflect its surroundings!!! 7. There is no crackling fireplace sound. There are many soung machines that can be purchased separately if you want the sound. I did. 8. It has a remote. It is a tiny flat rectangular remote, like one used for battery operated candles. It can sometimes take trying it at different angles to get it to work. 9. The heat works. It has a thermostat and will kick on when it feels it needs to. I really haven't noticed the heat output to be all that great. I can feel it and it definitely works, I'm just not planning on this as my heat source in the event of an emergency. 10. It's an open back unit that is pretty sturdy. Most of these types of units are open back, so this isn't abnormal. It cannot be used in the middle of a room without backing up to something. 11. Went together fairly quickly. The directions weren't overly complicated, but you must pay attention to the fine details in the pictures, or it can start to go wrong in no time. 12. I love to sit and look at it! I haven't turned it off, yet!

Beautiful, sturdy and good value. Arrived very fast. Instructions were easy, albeit long, but was simple enough for me to put together by myself. Customer service is fantastic. I had a few questions about the screws, and they were prompt and kind in their replies. I researched a lot of electric fireplaces, and this is by far the best value. Definitely recommend.

The fireplace is even more beautiful than I had hoped for. It took me a little while to put it together, but once I got into a rhythm, it started going quickly. I did it myself with no help. Make sure you follow the directions step by step exactly as they're written. It's helpful to have a power drill and it is certainly worth the investment if you don't already have one. Once it was totally together and I plugged it in, I turned on just the flame and was completely blown away. I was stunned at just how real the flame looks. This is a great piece, especially for the price. FYI .. I got the bronze birdcage, and while it may be plastic, from a few feet away, no one would guess! This is the best purchase I've made in a while and I couldn't be happier. Those who have seen it agree that it is absolutely beautiful!

Looks great. But note it is very difficult to assemble and the instructions are not crystal clear. Make sure you look at the illustrations very closely and make sure all the holes point in the correct direction. That being said, once it is together it looks great. One other issue: it arrived damaged. We were concerned because the box had some damage to it. So we kept an eye out and sure enough a corner of the base was “chipped” (for lack of a better word) off. Normally something we would return but because it was one of the last pieces we unpacked and the headache it would have been to repack it (kinda along the lines of folding a fitted sheet) and the weight of the package, it would have been a pain to return. So we just kept it and will do what we can to make the chipped off area disappear. Not this was a shipping and handling error. It says nothing about the seller or the product.

It doesn’t come in black, I painted it black. I also painted the “birdcage.” I made some adjustments to the shelves as well. I really love the look of it now!! it’s sturdy and holds my 70 inch TV. It throws a lot of heat and warms up in my living room. It was easy to put together, but took a long time. I worked on it for about three days, because I didn’t have a lot of time each day. I’m happy I found this and I recommend.

It’s a great looking fireplace. However, it is a little loud and I wish the heat insert didn’t look so fake. I wish they had an insert with rocks instead. Took me 2 days to complete on my own. About 4 hours each day. Every piece is individual which is very time consuming. I purchased it more for the aesthetic than heating purpose of it.
