Update: although I still can't recommend this lift (see below), I will say their customer service was great. They offered me a complete refund for my defective item. Lift = 1 star customer service = 5 stars So I changed my review to 3 stars. <<< Original Review >>> I bought this because my wife is subject to falls. I didn’t open the box until I actually needed it. I got my wife on the seat and pressed the up arrow, the seat started to rise and SNAP. My wife fell back to the floor. If my wife was injured by this piece of junk, I’d sue the company. The device is rated at 300 pounds and my wife doesn’t weigh anywhere near that.

So I got this lift chair for my dad, who's been having a tough time getting around lately. Before we got this, it was a real struggle to help him up when he fell. But now with this chair, man, it's a game changer. My dad just slides right into it, hits the button, and then, he's up or down safe and sound with this chair. I think this is a great device. Feels like a good value for the price. My only complaint is that there’s no way to tell how much battery power is left. The manual warns that it should be stored with about 50% of power. If one ends up with too much stored power, the only way to drain it is to raise and lower the chair, which takes several minutes for each raise/lower cycle. It would be great if they included a gauge to show battery level. I would definitely have given this 5 stars if that problem was fixed.

I bought this for my grandma, and she loves it! The controls are simple, and she can manage it all by herself. It's also surprisingly light, so she can move it around without needing help. The best part is that it's waterproof, so she can use it while bathing. Great purchase!
