Finally caved and bought another air conditioner, and this one is better than the other thankfully. We we're skeptical cause it arrived damaged in the back (it looks like someone kneed it in one spot and has scratch marks all over in the back) but it works perfectly fine. The remote is nice but it sucks that you have to unscrew it first cause it requires a super small screwdriver. It chilled our room from that 89° to 60° (by choice) in less than 2 hours. It does ok cooling smaller areas but it's not quite as good as I hoped. It does have alot of auto and eco setting which are nice. The remote control is also nice. Overall I would buy again just maybe a bigger unit with more btu.

AC was simple to install and works very well. MY ONLY PROBLEM IS THE REMOTE. Instruction book gives no info on how to open the battery compartment. Has an odd little screw that nothing fits. Tried contacting customer support, sent me to Amazon. Spoke to Amazon, emailed me a like to contact manufacturer. That email solicited a reply for An Amazon "return specialist" wanting more info about return. I explained I was trying to make a return, just simply want to know how to open the damned thing.
