We looked over a large collection of range hoods before settling on this one. We wanted removable filters, large CFM rating, adjustable speed, lights and circular top vent. The Ekon delivered on all of these and after two years of use, it's still working well. The front panel seems to become inoperative at times but it's not often. Maybe a half-dozen times overall. The fan looks good and operates well- much better than our old vent hood. At about 2 months of use, however the removable baffles started to bend slightly at the corners, I think because they are only attached in the center and the metal is thin. When I brought this to the attention of the manufacturer, they communicated quickly and twice sent me new baffles (the first being damaged in the mail.) So far no issues with the replacement! I bought this range hood in 2018 and had to contact them twice during my warranty period. Both times they fixed everything quickly and at no cost to me. Love the look of it It's awesome, only thing is that one of the filters had a manufacturer defect I written the company and to my surprise instead of sending me a new filter they sent me a whole new hood I couldn't believe it, still can't. The lights are really bright so I got some film you put on vehicle headlights to dull them down a little, it works great for it, the fan works great could be a little quieter. actually every thing works great, except the remote you actually have to be in front of the hood for it to work no big deal cause I wasn't going to use it anyways all I can say about this hood is I love, love, love it. It came in a sturdy cardboard box, with plastic corner protectors, like the protectors used on old steamer trucks. The range hood itself was completely encapsulated in a stiff resilient foam on all sides. There was no damage. My unit is only two weeks old and already a few bugs with the light controls. Press the light button and the lights come on, but about half power. Only way I have fixed this is to unplug the unit and replug. Then all controls works as they should. I hope this unit lasts and works well over time. That is the true test. Although this control light panel is not a huge problem, for a near $400.00 unit that is two weeks old, it does have me concerned. There is no USA retailer for information on this EKON line. All business is done through China UPDATE: I have had this unit for over a year and it has preformed as promised. The highest fan setting is loud, but it is about 900 CFM, so I expect it to be loud. Once you get the feel of operating the touch panel, it operates as it should, but it does take a certain touch to activate the controls. Once learned there is no problem. I had a contractor help install this. It's a heavy hood with two motors/fans so it definitely needs two people to install properly unless you're super strong or can rig something sturdy to keep the hood in place while you screw it into your cabinet. I cook a lot with high heat and extended simmers, and this was the hood with the best CFM for the money. After having used it for two months, I find that my kitchen and house don't smell like cooking anymore, which is amazing! The timer feature is something I never realized would be useful until I had it. Highly recommended. ... show more
