Updated review after living with this for a few months. Everything I posted in my original review (below) stands but I deducted a star for "the little things". To wit.... (These may or may not be big deals to you - but you should at least be aware of them before making your decision.) 1. If you keep the automatic flip up screen closed - it stays closed as you turn the car on/off. However, if you leave it open it automatically closes every time you turn off the vehicle and then opens when you turn it back on. Which is not THAT bad.... except that I wired it to the power wire from my original radio which will turn on when the key is turned on, but when you start the vehicle...it cuts power to the radio while the starter is turning the engine over. I guess so you can hear if your car starts or not. So what I end up with is - park car/turn off key = screen closes. get back in car turn on key = screen opens. starting car = screen closes. Car starts = screen opens again. Every time I start my car. Almost certainly this will prematurely wear the mechanics out over time. Would be nice if they just kept the previous state of the screen like it does when it's closed (if closed when you turn off your car, stays closed next time you turn it on). Leaving it open should do the same thing. 2. When using the backup camera, anytime you put the vehicle in reverse the backup camera comes on *AND* the radio automatically mutes. As a guy who likes to back-in to my parking spaces...this gets to be a little annoying. I was really into that song that was just playing. I guess if you don't back-in this would not be as big of a nuisance. Since when you're backing OUT...you probably just got in the car and haven't had time to get into the music yet. 3. Resets the volume to 50% every time you turn it off. This is a minor annoyance but thought I'd throw it in the list. If they had settings to turn these behaviors on/off the unit would be PERFECT. But even so....I'm still enjoying it. === ORIGINAL REVIEW === This is my 3rd flip screen stereo I bought from Amazon. First two sounded OK but had various defects that prompted me to send back (touchscreen not working, memory getting erased, etc) Proud to say that everything worked on this stereo right out of the box. And the sound quality is NOTICEABLY better than the first two. I’m not an audiophile so “sounds OK to me” is about all I really need out of a stereo. But even my untrained and unfinicky ears could instantly hear a difference in the clarity of the sound with this unit vs. the other two. Same speakers, same vehicle, only thing changed is the stereo = better sound. Things I dig: As mentioned, the sound quality. Also like that you can select a boot-up logo (they have logos for all major vehicle makes to choose from). Controls are intuitive and easy to operate. Carplay and mirror works perfect with my iPhone. Phone calls are crystal clear and people say there is no problem understanding me using the hand-free mic. Things I don’t dig: NOTHING (hence the 5 stars) Don’t be like me and waste a bunch of time on other inexpensive stereos. For the money - this unit is the bomb, baby!

So, most annoying feature? It turns itself back on after you turn it off, every time. It's got more bugs than a rotting log. I installed it in my motorhome as an upgrade for my "home stereo" which only has room for a single DIN head unit, but I have muted something, gone to bed, and had it randomly start blasting music or podcasts at 4am or whenever it just decided to unmute itself. The remote control works only with direct line of sight, and then only just; most of the buttons on the remote have not correspondence with functions on the head unit. The Bluetooth radio is extremely poor, and will not reliably connect with my phone at 30 feet in line of sight, i.e. while I'm lying on the bed of my 33' motorhome. My wife, however, can pull into the driveway and my phone will happily connect to her Bluetooth adapter in her car, which is 50 feet away with two layers of metal in between us. I know she's home when my audiobook or music randomly stops playing. Google Play Store has posted a permanent warning to delete the included, default navigation software included in this head unit. It's the only software that will work in the absence of a cellular signal, which you might imagine is important to me, as a motorhome owner/driver. This head unit is overly dependent on use of a smertfone, but it is very poor in it's ability to connect with one, and the software and button configuration makes it difficult to stream music, podcasts, videos, etc from one you have linked. Nothing is intuitive about this unit, but with much fiddling and patience, it does work most of the time, so I give it two stars since I won't send it back but I will probably replace it with something better if I can find one.

It is kind of glitchy but not horrible considering the price. Reported many issues to their tech support. They seem to have less knowledge about the unit than I do. It mostly works. Could never get the screen mirror to work correctly. When using android auto I typically need to either reboot the stereo or my phone. Also the power output for each speaker is probably about 7w and does not drive the speakers are well as it should. Much less than what they originally stated. The card size IR remote is useless as the buttons are not responsive and IR angle is so small. Looks like they are now providing a different one. As a result of all the issues they provided me a replacement. It has all the same issues so I must assume that these are design flaws. Not a horrible stereo for the price but just know that it does have problems.

I received this item and installed is easily enough. Everything seemed to work, but i could not connect any phone to the blutooth. I never saw this unit on a phone, and never saw anything available on this unit to connect to. I wanted to contact the seller, but couldnt figure out how to so i am returning the unit. Update: The vendors swiftly replaced this item and the new unit works great. The cost/feature ratio is fantastic and the only reason this review is not a 5 is because the initial issue with blutooth. The next unit connected via blutooth fine.
