  • Comfortable, lightweight, tough. Great value for your dollar.
Size: 9 Color: Black
$44 pair of over-the-ankle tactical boots, what can go wrong? Well, as a veteran of both trying to cheap out on boots (Walmart) and spending way too much (Timbs, Chippewa, Red Wing,) along with having another pair of shorter Nortiv 8 boots I really enjoy, I feel like I can give a proper perspective on these. First off, any review of footwear needs proper foot context, so for that, I'm a size 9, EE width, crazy high arches. First, the pros: These fit true to size. The 9 I wear in almost anything else is equivalent to the 9 here. Not tight in the toes, but not enough room left over to allow my feet to slide around. Just about perfect. One thing to note, other Nortiv products have a separate "wide" option, these don't. I have wide feet as said above and feel like there's enough room. It's a little tight for me compared to their "wide" options, but not to a detrimental degree. These are impressively light for the stature, they're very easy to walk around in without excess fatigue compared to other boots with similar height and sole thickness. Compared to other over-the-ankle boots, I feel like these won't require a ton of break in. Putting them on right out of the box, nothing is chewing into my shins or ankles, nothing is pinching anywhere, all seems perfectly fine. Having had to spend a week or two in discomfort with much more expensive boots, I'm really impressed by that. I'm absolutely sure they'll loosen up a bit in time, but you won't be uncomfortable while they do. Cons: The insole. It ain't great. Not much cushion, no support. I mean, it's a $44 boot, so I wasn't expecting much, but again as someone with a wide foot on an excessively high arch, I need quite a bit of arch support and cushioning at both the heel and ball. These insoles don't cut it...now if you're not on your feet all day, it likely won't be a problem for you, but I am, and with my aforementioned foot profile, in order to really make these boots shine I had to replace the insoles. It's not really a strike worthy of taking away a star, as I have to do the same in nearly every piece of footwear I own. The exterior (I have the black pleather, not the brown suede) clearly looks and feels cheaper than what you see on the much more expensive boots like Chips, Timbs, Danners, Wings, etc. That may or may not matter to you, and it really doesn't affect the performance and comfort of the boot itself, but it is what it is. You can tell the price point these sit at by looking at them. They're a "go" boot, not a "show" boot. This material is likely why the boots are able to be as light as they are though, so take the positive with the negative. The laces and zipper are pretty standard fare stuff, they do what you need them to do. All in all, I think these are a killer value at $44. Even with a good premium pair of insoles at $25-40 (I really love the Valsole brand,) you're still coming in at a total dollar price that's a fraction of the expensive brands I mentioned earlier...and you'd probably have to replace the insoles on those, too. I know I would. Basically, if you need a pair of boots for looking cool, I'd go with the Red Wings...but if you need a decent pair and you don't want to spend a lot, you could do a lot worse than these Nortiv's. ... show more

  • Nortiv 8 are worth the price. Try them out Nortiv 8 are worth the price. Try them out
Size: 12 Color: Coyote
Great boots! Comfortable, lightweight, and true to size. Order size 12, same as my sneakers. The fit is as comfortable as any of my other shoes that I got to try at the store. Side zipper is an easy way in and out of your boots. Zipper has a Velcro strap that keeps it in place. Remember, this boots are NOT steel-toe. As for durability, only time will tell. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Greats boots but quality is questionable Greats boots but quality is questionable
*UPDATE* After leaving my initial review, this company reached out to me the very next day. They wanted to refund my money. I didnt want a refund, so they sent me a brand new pair of the boots. Extremely happy with their customer service. We will see how the new ones hold up. I'll start by saying, I love these boots! The light wheight and comfort are perfect. However, I think that the quality in which they are made should definitely be upgraded. I have had them for close to 2 months now and one of them has started to fall apart already. I know that the price was extremely affordable and maybe I shouldn't be complaining but... I am going to order another pair in hopes that it was a fluke. We shall see. Just thought i should share my experience, seeing as how I refer to reviews for many of my purchases. ... show more

  • Looking for a good quality boot at affordable price, here it is
Size: 12 Color: Coyote
Bought these to wear daily with my uniform. They exceed my expectations in many ways. For the price i wasn't expecting much, maybe a boot that would last a little while. Boot is of good quality and side zip is great. Tread on the sole is very grippy and works well on wet surfaces. Boots are light weight for easy wearing for hours at a time. ... show more

  • Comfortable, Affordable, and Tough — Even for a 328-lb CO Walking 10 Miles a Night
Size: 13 Color: Black
I work as a detention officer and these boots go through serious real-world abuse every shift. I weigh 328 lbs, and I walk 8 to 10 miles every night on concrete floors while standing and moving for 12 to 13 hours straight. These boots have held up better than boots I have paid double or triple the price for. Comfort: Surprisingly comfortable right out of the box. I added my own high-arch insoles (for plantar fasciitis), and with those inserted, these boots are actually more comfortable than my sneakers. My feet never hurt during shift — no heel pain, no arch pain, and no joint pain while working. Support and Durability: These boots stay comfortable for an entire night of walking, climbing stairs, and constant movement. They provide solid ankle stability and enough cushioning to protect my joints even with my bodyweight and the miles I put on them. Foot Pain After Shift: I only get swelling or throbbing after I take off the boots and compression socks at home, which is normal for long shifts on concrete. During the shift, these boots keep everything supported and comfortable. Fit and Feel: They fit true to size, the toe box is comfortable, and the materials breathe well for long duty use. No break-in period, no rubbing, and no hot spots. Bottom Line: If they can handle a 328-lb corrections officer walking 10 miles a night on hard floors, they will hold up for anyone. For the price, these boots are one of the best values on Amazon. Absolutely worth it. ... show more

  • Good Quality Boots
Size: 8.5 Color: Black
These are amazingly good quality boots for the price. I wear a size 8.5 shoe and I ordered size 8.5 for this boot and they fit perfectly.

  • Pretty rugged and durable
Size: 10 Color: Coyote
The last pair of zip on sides boots I owned i had purchased from Smith & Wesson. They had lasted 2yrs and now style is no longer available. So I purchased these boots at 1/3 the cost of my last ones, not expecting as much. But upon arrival and pulling them on, I normally wear 9-1/2 shoe size, but ordered size 10 this time. I am so glad I did order size 10 now, as they fit perfectly and comfortably. The zipper hides a fold of material that helps keep it more water resistant. But I'm totally satisfied with this purchase. ... show more
