  • Works perfectly.
Works perfect. I've completely demagnetized all of my tools in a matter of a minute or two. I've read some complaints about using the demagnetizer. I think the problem is that the people don't understand how to properly use a demagnetizer. You lay the item that you wish to demagnetize on the working surface. Press the button and hold. After no more than two seconds slowly pull the item you're demagnetizing away from the surface all the while keeping the button pressed. Once the item (tool whatever) is about 12 inches away from the demagnetizer release the power button. The entire process need not take more than 5 - 10 seconds to complete. ... show more

  • It works well
It is a cheaply made (but appears durable) device with no instructions, no specs. A quick YouTube search shows how to use it… and it works well. I had several magnetized screwdrivers and a watch that runs very fast due to getting it magnetized by accident with a powerful magnet. Both the screwdrivers and the watch were successfully demagnetized by this device (I can’t even pronounce its brand name). So… it works. ... show more

  • Works perfectly - Remember MOMENTARY USE ONLY
Set Small screwdrivers or watch or other item to demagnetize on the platform. Push the button and it will buzz/vibrate with the 60Hz current going through the coil. HOLD Button DOWN and pull the tool off the platform slowly until over 3 feet above it. THEN Let go of the momentary button. Don't push the duty cycle more than 20 seconds in 5 minutes or it will overheat and fail. It's a direct line to coil device without any cooling and not meant for continual use in a single session. Give it time to cool off before it even gets warm and it shouldn't fail on you. Fixed all of my Wiha screwdrivers in about 1 minute total. Will also work for lathe and mill cutters but not much larger than that, you'll need the larger platform expensive units for large scale degaussing. ... show more

  • It's doing what it's supposed to
It definitely seems to be doing it's job, unfortunately magnetism is either not the reason for my watch going slow, or this takes a finesse I lack. I've used a phone app to check the magnetic quality of an object, using this tool to both magnetize and demagnetize the object. The phone app shows there's a change taking place within the magnetic field of the object (the object is the metal shield of a Bic lighter) I may be pulling the watch away too fast, or too slow, or it's simply not what is causing the watch to run slow. Anyway I'll give it a few more tries before I call it quits. Update: so it corrected it pretty good but I'm still losing some time. It's a lot better than it was before. ... show more

  • Complete Garbage - SAVE YOUR MONEY
This is the 2nd one purchased. First one didn't work at all so returned it for a different "brand'. When I say brand, I mean that the box says something else, but it was identical to the first one. This 2nd one "worked" once and when I say it worked, I mean that you could hear a buzz, which at least gave the illusion it was doing something. I was not positive that my watch was magnetized in the first place, but the time difference was increasing with each check, so I figured I would try a demagnetizer first before exploring other possible issues. After the first use I am now pretty confident that my watch IS now magnetized from the demagnetizer itself since the deviation increased over 40% from last check. I went to use this new one again to try it a different way but now it doesn't work at all and of course it is past the return window. Just a light and no sound whatsoever from the transformer again, just like the first one. It is wildly apparent the quality checks on these products are nonexistent. While they are cheap, they are still a bad value for the money since they are about useless. If you were lucky enough to get one that consistently works over time, congratulations! Otherwise, stay far away from them. Also to note, there are 0 instructions included on its proper use so you will need to read other comments or do an internet search on the best way to use it. You will likely see multiple opinions on how best to use it and most of that is likely just trial and error. This product, sold under several different brands but is one that Amazon should remove. On a last note, since there are no instructions, I wonder how many that purchased just assume it is doing something simply because the light illuminates and they don't complain or return since the cost is generally well under $15. "Professional" watch demagnetizer... I wonder what the non-professional version would be like ..just wow! ... show more

  • works
No instructions, but you'll figure it out haha! I use this for my gravers, nothing like doing some fine shading and your burs keep sticking to your graver. It seems like you have to demagnetize the whole tool. I start at the back of the black GRS graver holder, sliding it towards my cutting edge, and at the end, I stand the graver up on its point real quick. Do this a couple of times and seems to work just fine, especially for that price ... show more

  • Helped demagnetize small burrs that other devices couldn't fix
Some of the burrs I use in my jewelry work became magnetized and it was really inconvenient to have to keep separating these small 3.0 mm round pieces of tool steel on my workbench. A passive demagnetizer had zero effect on these burrs so I purchased this electronic demagnetizer. I placed the burr on the pad, pressed the button and while holding the button down, lifted the burr off the pad. Checked it against a piece of non-magnetized steel and it no longer was attracted to it. Life is better thanks to this little device. ... show more

  • Worked perfectly
After seeing some mixed reviews, I thought that I would give it a try since it was cheap. Bought a 1969 Rolex that had been magnetized. Worked perfectly to get it back to normal. Used it on a few of my watch tools and fixed them in 1 try.
