Like others have said, this is an awesome for a string tool in taking down tall grass, weeds and small stalk bushes. I did not find it hard to use at all and bought the strap thinking it would be heavy and it was not for me and I am 70 years old. I used it for an hour and half but did have to charge the battery in between twice. I like the fact that the battery is strong all the way until it needs charging. And it charges quickly. I got about 30 - 40 min per charge but was using it in the high power mode as my grass and and weeds were thick. The string loading is cool and easy and I never had it jam. I took the bottom cover off to check when my string ran out to make sure it really did and there was none left. The only downside I see is that a string only lasts for about 20 minutes or so. And that was not going against any concrete walls so it does wear down quicker than I thought it would given its thickness. Maybe it would last longer in less dense grass and weeds. But overall, A+ as it will not disappoint you in how quickly this takes stuff down. Be careful as it does throw stuff tens of feet so goggles and long pants are a must and make sure no one else is around. I had a stone or something bounce back and put a cut in my arm as this is very powerful. Maybe they should consider making the shield a little wider as it is narrower relative to others I have used in the past. But as I said, 100% satisfied with its performance! It is pricey but worth it as it is pretty effortless to use given the automatic string deployment. ... show more

This thing is well-made! Before I even used it I could tell it was put together well using durable, lightweight materials. (I got the carbon fiber) The balance is great, not perfect, that CANNOT be achieved because ppl are different sizes, so you’ll have to adjust accordingly, but it gives you the ability to do that with an adjustable handle and extendable shaft. Ergonomically, it’s fantastic - again ppl have different size hands, length of arms and height - but I’m middle of the road as far as “human size” and it is comfortable to hold and use so it shouldn’t be an issue. I’m eager to add the shoulder strap just to see if it improves the experience even more. Then there’s the performance - 10’s all the way! Much quieter than gas, as well as no fumes and no need to refill, the battery swap is E-Z. String IQ is great, the idea of not having to bang it on the ground is very appealing, much less strain on the body and the tool. But, Powerload is the bees knees, it really is - it was almost fun…a great invention. The trimming was where you really get to see the payoff. My backyard was a literal jungle; 5-6ft weeds, brush, vines, branches and burrs, couldn’t see any fence line. I never took it off low speed (1) and made it through 35-40 minutes with the 2.5aH battery. I was not worn out and my shoulders weren’t stressed. Whatever I hit went down. This is a great investment and I would recommend this to anyone, including commercial landscapers. So much so, I am now in the market for a new SELF-PROPELLED mower and have my eye on their 22” w/aluminum deck. (Maybe even the riding mower!) ... show more

This Ego trimmer is very powerful. It has a switch that ups the rpms when the weed cutting gets tough. Also, the battery held up for my entire yard .6 acres. I have a creek along one side of the house and I have to keep the weeds and brush from the creek infringing onto my property. I read some reviews about the automatic feed for dispensing the plastic cutting twine, and many reported that automatic feed tended to use the cutting twine faster than their old weed eater, but It was not that evident to me that this was a problem. I replaced my old Ego weed eater with this one mainly because it has an auto load feature on the power head, which I haven't had to use yet, but I have only used my new one for about 5-6 hours so it can't be too long before it will need to be rewound and if it's a problem, I will come back and update my post if necessary. My old Ego weed eater was working power wise very good, but the head was a pain to load new cutting twine. The vidios I have watched appears to be a lot easier to load than what I was dealing with. ... show more
