September 22, 2024 I assembled this machine on April 13, 2024 and started using it shortly thereafter. I bought it to replace my Echo SRM-225 which I have used since June 2013. I bought this particular EGO model after reading great reviews about it. Both devices are used solely at my home. As this is my first battery powered piece of lawn equipment, I wanted to see how it handled several concerns that I had upon making the switch from gasolene to battery power, the first being just how it handled generally. I have to say that it handles very well. It is noticeably lighter than my old Echo and significantly quieter. It does a very good job of cutting the grass in either standard trimming such as along a fence line as well as along mulched areas where I have to hold it upside down. As there are more mulched areas than regular in my yard this second position is important to me and the EGO does very well in both areas. I have to say however that the inverted position is a little more cumbersome to me, but not a deal breaker. The second concern was how the EGO would handle a roughly 920 square foot area beyond the back boundary of my yard that contains weeds alongside a farm field. I go back there several times each summer to clean up the area. The EGO is excellent in this wild service actually better than my gas-powered Echo. This machine really goes after it. There’s more than enough power. It did have some problems with some big (3/8” diameter) Queen Ann’s Lace that I encountered on my most recent time in the field, but for the most part it was up to the task. This is the service where it earned the “BEAST” moniker. The third concern dealt with the auto-feed feature of replacing the line. I’ve only had to do so once so far, but it worked slicker than snot. So much easier to replace than my old Echo ever was. My final concern was battery charge life. There’s more than enough charge in the battery to do my whole yard, including the wild area in the back to do everything on a single charge. It also only takes a short time to fully re-charge. I always do the trimming before running the mowers so when done I put the battery on charge while mowing. It’s always fully ready to go by the time I’m done mowing. I don’t need to keep it on charge when away from the garage. The battery holds the charge very well too. We’ve been having a drought, particularly over the last month or so and I’ve let it set for about 6 weeks. When I used it this past week there was more than enough charge to do the whole yard with no problem. I’m extremely happy with this machine. ... show more

So far the products are working out great. I've used it several times since purchasing and the battery life is pretty good. I used the 2.5 AH battery on the weed eater and have had no issues weed eating and edging my yard. I live on about 8500 sq ft property and use about 1/2 to 2/3 the battery. I got a 5.0 AH through another deal and have used that with the leaf blower and that uses about 1/3 to 1/2 of that battery. So the 2.5 AH battery should work for the leaf blower as well. Depending on the size of your property, it might not be able to work for both a leaf blower and weed eater with out charge. The weed eater has good speed and power and the the battery on both devices is pretty light. All in all, no complaints ... show more

I just unboxed this item. Out of the box was very easy to put together. The battery came with a partial charge. The blower is very powerful, the grass trimmer is very powerful. I have not read all the instructiond yet, however since I already own E GO chain saw it was very familiar. No more mixing gas and pulling on a cord to get the tool started. This is a combo of a string trimmer and a blower. The string trimmer works very well and has plenty of power to trim the grass around the house and to use as an edger when turned upside down. As an edger it uses a lot of line. Feeding the line is very easy but I went through all the line it came with just using it twice on my yard which is about 1/3 acre. That said, I still prefer it much over the gas powered one I used to have. No more worrying about the gas/oil leaving stains on clothing or having the fuel lines rot over time. This one also starts every time. Reloading line is a bit tricky but after doing it a couple times it worked well. Blower is amazingly strong, especially in boost mode. In that mode, it’s stronger than my gas blower. It is also well balanced and light. What surprised me the most is the battery life. I used the same 2Ah battery for both trimmer and blower and after using it for about an hour it finally ran out. That is more than I usually need. Battery also seems to charge pretty quickly. Overall, I would recommend this pair. I went with Ego because I am thinking about getting an electric mower as well next year and ego seems to be the best choice for me. I wanted to make sure I get everything from the same brand so I can interchange the batteries. ... show more

I'm 4'11 115 lbs F. Not a stranger to yard work. This thing is long and a Lil heavy but I tuck it in my arm pit and got to work. A strap would definitely help. in AZ forest/desert we get thick weeds and this guy went right through. Also have used a huge sthl gas on 10 acres for a few years, this is definitely easier cleaner, less smell, less fuss. Not sure the charge would do 10 acres n a day but I love it. Used 30 min intervals charged in between for about 2 hours lasted all 30 mins. ... show more
