This is a powerful trimmer and it's made very well. When fully charged the battery has enough power to do all the trimming. If not fully charged I have to stop in the middle to recharge it. What is great is it starts easy and does not pollute, no gas/oil mixture. No pulling your arm apart to get it started. Just a flick of the switch and you're on the way. The BEST thing is the installation of the trimmer wire is automatic! Just cut a piece to 13 feet long, thread it though the spool and hit the wind button. I LOVE IT. The only drawback for me is the trimmer is a bit on the heavy side. The handle has to be adjusted in a way that the trimmer is balanced because the battery is fairly heavy. So between the weight and the need to balance its is a tiring for me. On the whole, it makes trimming much more pleasant than using a gas powered trimmer. ... show more

We picked up the EGO POWER+ Combo (Cordless Trimmer and 670 CFM Blower) for a fantastic price and couldn’t be happier with the purchase. We've already got nearly the full line of EGO equipment, and this combo just adds to why we love the brand so much. The 15" trimmer with POWERLOAD makes line loading effortless, and it cuts through weeds and grass like a pro. The blower is incredibly powerful—670 CFM is no joke—and it handles yard cleanup with ease. The included 56V 4.0Ah battery and charger are great additions and offer plenty of runtime for our needs.     • Ego makes quality stuff.

I'm a firm believer that if you can decide on a specific brand of battery operated equipment, try hard to buy just that brand so you may interchange batteries and chargers where permitted by manufacturer. With this said, I stick with 2 brands that I've had excellent luck with and cover different areas of use mostly, just a little overlap. The 2 brands (I have no deal with these brands, just like them because of my experience with them) I believe in are DeWalt and Ego. In this case my latest purchase was this weedtrimmer. It has great features and I am very impressed with the power it has and how long it operates on a charge. My favorite feature is filling up the spool with trimmer line. Ego has made this process one of if not the easiest to do in the industry! It holds a lot of line and being battery operated, is nice and quiet. I live right along side a field and every once and a while I need to cut it back some to not interfere with my cutting of the grass in my own yard. When doing this, every once in awhile you run across a small whip of a start of a tree. Obviously the line isn't going to cut through this but it also doesn't stop the Ego. It just hammers away til I backoff and cut around these saps. This Ego unit is on the line between homeowner and commercial quality. It's highend homeowner and takes the same battery and charger that I already have for other Ego products like the Leaf Blower for example. Even if I would get a Ego 2 Stage Snow Blower some day, they all take the same battery and charger. So if you have a large project going on, and a battery runs out... you have more charged batteries to grab and go on with. In my opinion, one of the greatest features of sticking with a brand. In my own opinion I believe you get excellent value for your money buying these 2 brands. Oh, and as far as durability, my leaf blower was the first Ego purchase I made years ago and I'm still using it and the battery and charger that came with it! ... show more

    • Very capable, comparable to gas powered tools without the fuel hassle
Style: w/Leaf Blower + 2.5Ah Battery
This is a combo of a string trimmer and a blower. The string trimmer works very well and has plenty of power to trim the grass around the house and to use as an edger when turned upside down. As an edger it uses a lot of line. Feeding the line is very easy but I went through all the line it came with just using it twice on my yard which is about 1/3 acre. That said, I still prefer it much over the gas powered one I used to have. No more worrying about the gas/oil leaving stains on clothing or having the fuel lines rot over time. This one also starts every time. Reloading line is a bit tricky but after doing it a couple times it worked well. Blower is amazingly strong, especially in boost mode. In that mode, it’s stronger than my gas blower. It is also well balanced and light. What surprised me the most is the battery life. I used the same 2Ah battery for both trimmer and blower and after using it for about an hour it finally ran out. That is more than I usually need. Battery also seems to charge pretty quickly. Overall, I would recommend this pair. I went with Ego because I am thinking about getting an electric mower as well next year and ego seems to be the best choice for me. I wanted to make sure I get everything from the same brand so I can interchange the batteries. ... show more
