Pros: This snowblower has exceeded my expectations in multiple ways. First and foremost, the battery life is incredible. This is a great snowblower that works exceptionally well. For many years I used to have the typical gasoline powered blower, which worked great, but was always associated with the pungent smell of exhaust and gasoline. And not to mention the mandatory oil change, spark plug replacement and finding a proper place to dispose of the used oil. This summer I made the transition to an EGO battery powered lawnmower and a high speed blower. After using those two units and being very happy with their performance, I decided to get an EGO snowblower, considering the fact that I already had three high power batteries for them. The unit arrived in very well packaged box and was easy to put together. It required the handles to be brought up from their down locked position and to install the auger for snow discharge, all taking less than half an hour to complete with the necessary tool included. On the handle, on the right side, there is the auger control lever which allows left or right snow discharge and on the left there is the snow blades speed control. The battery compartment has two spaces for the required batteries to operate the unit. In my case I used two 56V 7.5 Ah from the lawnmower I ordered during the summer time. Soon after the unit arrived I had the chance to use it after a 5 to 6 inch snow fall to clear my 150-160 feet long driveway and a 4 car apron in front of the house. Also I used it to clear approximately 300 feet of my and my neighbors sidewalks. Altogether I was outside for a good hour, possibly a bit longer, and the snowblower performed brilliantly clearing the snow all the way to the cement that covers the driveway. The advertising says it blows the snow up to 40 feet distance and I confirm that is true, depending how one positions the auger. One little caution when the wind is blowing and the auger is positioned for the farthest distance, you can be covered in fine snow, like a snowman, in no time. As far as the battery usage, after finishing all the work I still had 75% power left in both batteries. Overall a great unit and I highly recommend it for those who wish to make the transition from gasoline to battery power.

This is a very good snowblower especially if you are someone who has bought into the Ego family. I was on the fence for over a year due to some so-so to negative reviews online of Ego snowblowers and price, which I can understand...to a degree...but I have been happy with this purchase. This is a high quality snowblower and performed well in the unrelenting Midwestern-northeast snow fall this winter (2020/21). I watched and waited for the SNT2110 metal auger version for about a month and was thankfully able to get it prior to the major wave of storms this winter. Lowe’s didn’t have this model. My driveway is uneven slate stone on a downward slope towards the garage. I also have flat sidewalk and some hardscaping around the house and even some gravel. I’m an engineer, my house is a case study for challenging snow blowing. User feedback that there is jarring due to uneven surfaces is true, but I was able to accommodate by carefully maneuvering over known uneven spots and sidewalk gaps. With most scraper bar/blower designs this will be the case for most single stage designs. I jerry-rigged some mechanical shim wheels using c-clamps to prop up the blower - not as good as some others I have seen, but it worked ok. Next year, I’ll go more fancy. I’m hoping someone or Ego just designs something for the masses to resolve this issue for investment protection. The scraper bar should be treated like a yearly consumable, I’m currently on one bar - although I can see needing two scraper bars per season, which would be annoying. Note that I didn’t want the rubber auger because the uneven driveway would tear up the rubber paddles. If you have a smooth or asphalt driveways the rubber auger would likely be ok. Overall I’m satisfied!

Last week we had our first decent snowfall of ~7-8" in suburban Minneapolis which allowed me to try out the snowblower I bought to replace our 25 year old 2 stroke snowblower that decided not to start this winter. I bought an E-Go lawn mower last summer that came with a 10Ah battery, so I bought the snowblower without a battery, hoping the single battery would work okay. I was a little nervous this might not work out as I wasn't seeing any reviews running the snowblower on just one battery. I am pleased to report that the battery held up, running the blower at full speed to clear three ~20'x40' driveways. E-Go says the blower can throw snow 40'. That may be true - certainly it threw the snow an impressive distance, but what I found was, at full speed, the unit blew snow in every direction. I and the snowblower were completely encased in snow very quickly (see attached pictures). This might not have happened if I slowed down the speed, but my primary goal was to test out the battery. A fair amount of snow fell into the battery compartment when I took the battery out. The snow was pretty stuck on the snowblower and did not melt off in the garage for the next several days because it is not warm like a gas-powered unit. Overall, I thought the snowblower worked pretty well. It is sweet that there is no yanking on a cord to get it to start or blue smoke filling the garage. I liked the easy swivel of the chute compared to the crank on our old Toro. However, it is more difficult to push than our old blower, particularly over driveway transitions. I think that is because it has metal blades compared to the rubber thing on the old unit. The 10Ah batteries are super expensive, so I don't think I will ever recover the cost compared to gas. Also, the E-Go unit case is all plastic - I don't think I'll get 25 years out of this snowblower. Time will tell.

I have to say I am very impressed. I have a corner house with lots of sidewalk and a deep 3-car driveway plus trailer pad. I was concerned about battery life and how it would handle in wet snow. I am not worried any more. I have used it 4 times since I purchased it a month ago (steel auger version). The first 3 times the show was dry and about 3-5 inches deep. The 4th time it was 2 inches of slushy, heavy snow. It got right down to the cement each time and never even acted like it wanted to clog. It even did great on the snow mound the street plows left in front of my driveway. I used 2 7.5 AH batteries. I still had 1-2 bars left each time. The unit I bought is the one that does not come with batteries. I already had batteries that I used for mowing. If you do not already have batteries, buy the one that comes with the batteries and charger. You can get it with either 5 or 7.5 AH batteries. It is tons cheaper that buying the batteries and charger separately.

This unit is light weight and easy to use and maneuver for a senior citizen like me. I'm in my mid 70s. First time out, I went through 8 inches of snow for four houses on my block in a jiffy, and the batteries hardly lost charge. Plus, battery change and recharge is easy. This rig is fun to use. I do the sidewalk and the area around my car after the jerk from city plows me in. Love that easy to use lever to adjust direction of the snow being ejected when I change directions. So, yes, this is a win win win!

I picked this version mainly because it didn't come with batteries, had the metal auger, and was about 50lbs. I have several 12 Ah batteries from an Ego mower I purchased over a year ago. 2 of those batteries made short work of a 16 car driveway across 2 days of snow. First day was heavy wet heavy snow fall, and there was enough charge left to do the entire driveway again of light dry snow. Use car ceramic coating on the shoot, auger, and auger housing to help prevent sticking snow. Pros: - Folds up with good hand holds for lifting. - Powerful on low setting. - Extremely quiet. - Easy to change shoot direction. Cons: - Packaging is extremely awkward to lift by yourself. - You must be able to lift 50+ lbs. - Doesn't come with anything to clear a clogged shoot. - Shoot gets in the way when folding the handle bar down for storage. - Battery lid area collects snow easily, and can fall into battery area.
