I have a gas powered backpack blower. I never thought a handheld, battery, leaf blower would be much use. I got this for my boys (7.5 & 9) so they could blow leaves and walnuts off the driveway in the fall. We have a tree that overhangs the driveway and during the fall it drops enough stuff on the driveway that they can't use their skateboards, scooters, and other wheeled toys. Even bicycling can be tough. So I thought this would be a good thing for them to use to clear the driveway. I was right about that part. It's lightweight, powerful, and easy enough to use and control that my 7.5 year old can clear the driveway in minutes. He loves it and they both love having a clear driveway. I was really impressed with how well this thing did with leaves and walnuts. At least as good as my gas backpack unit, although I don't think it's as comfortable for jobs that stretch into hours. What I was wrong about was this being of much use outside the one task. This thing is amazingly useful. The dial setting that lets you pick a specific flow/volume means you can set it to a very low setting and use it to blow out the garage without making a mess. My gas unit has a similar lock but it's nowhere near as precise so it makes blowing out the garage a challenge. This thing gets my garage clean in just a couple of minutes. But what really impressed me is what it can do in the snow. I have an ATV with a plow for my driveway but my walkways, about 200 feet of them, are made of old brick. They're uneven, lopsided and it's genuine misery to shovel them. You get about 1 foot before the shovel catches on a brick and, if you're not careful, wrenches your wrists and shoulders. So, during the first snowfall this year I decided, on a whim, to see what this thing could do. The results were nothing short of amazing! So far I've cleared walkways with up to 4 inches of snow on them. It's not any faster than shoveling but there's no bending over or lifting so it's much easier on my 56-year old back. It also doesn't catch on uneven bricks. I did find that I had to develop a technique, especially for deeper or harder-packed snow. You let the nozzle touch the ground about three feet in front of you and work it towards you and side-to-side at the same time. This blows off about 80% of the snow. Then you go over the same spot, working away from you and side-to-side to get the remaining 20%. Walk forward to the edge of what you've cleared and repeat. It takes me about 2.5 batteries (mix of 2.5A and 5A) to clear everything but it's so much easier and less frustrating than shoveling. I know my gas powered blower can't do this, in part because the nozzle can't be made to touch the ground. If you're on the fence about getting one of these get off the fence. This is an excellent leaf blower. Performs well and powerful enough to handle the toughest leaf blowing jobs. I like the fact that the output is adjustable as you don’t always need a strong blast of air for small cleanup jobs. The EGO Power+ Leaf Blower says it all in its name - "POWER". I do have a EGO mower and an EGO trimmer and they all work great. The advantage I have is that they all came with batteries and so I have backups. This Leaf Blower works so well. It has a great trigger mechanism and it simply does the job and does it so well. We don't have a large property but in the past I had a backpack, gas powered blower, and I think this is more powerful and certainly easier to use. I use this with the larger 6 amp batteries that came with my Ego mower. It makes the blower a bit heavier, but also gives extra run time, and the balance is good so I have no problem using it for the 20 minutes or so it takes to clear my yard of leaves. I like the variable speed trigger switch that gives excellent control over air flow for clearing around shrubs and mulched areas without blowing mulch into my grass. I have yet to use the "turbo" button - the regular air flow has been fine for clearing leaves. Perhaps it will be useful for clearing snow off my walks and driveway in the winter. ... show more

This is the 615 CFM unit. I am using it with the 2.7aH battery which is 2.7 lbs (total weight unit 4.8+ battery 2.7=7.5lbs). I am older so the weight factor was important to me. This combo is lighter than most alternatives. I’ve used a fee times now, including one large job (garage, porches, patio and the complete front yard covered with big heavy leaves). This large job was 20+ minutes and I still had 1/2 charge left. The blower moves a LOT of air on low trigger mode. And in that mode it is very quiet. Rarely did I need to use turbo mode. I found moving the blower around a bit dislodged things quite well. Even blowing the Magnolia tree leaves across 2-3” grass, a medium trigger was generally adequate. As a homeowner, I am super glad I did not spend a lot more $ for the heavy 765. Perhaps that is one for a contractor who does things all day. I have another unit, Ryobi 110mph 40V. It is 6lbs. But its performance does not come close. It won’t clear the small leaves out of my short artificial grass area. ... show more

I was reluctant to buy a battery powered blower...the ones that my neighbors brandish on saturday mornings are mostly high-whining irritants that don't do much. Not THIS thing...it's as powerful as my AC power blower, but without the 100ft extension cord. My property is all hardscaped stamped concrete and eucalyptus leaves are my big problem. Sweeping it takes two solid hours. This thing, with the 4AH battery, pushed all the leaves into the yard corners in 20 minutes, then I just scoop them up in another 20 minutes. And its a different kind of Loud...not that whiney high pitched noise. I ran it on TURBO mode the whole time, and I just got 20 minutes run time, but got it done. Next time i'll back off the TURBO. ALSO, I need to put a shoulder strap on it...kinda heavy waving that around for 20 minutes; I'm no linebacker. My real concern is battery lifetime...expensive to replace. I'm hoping in 3 to 5 yrs that there's a third part knock off, like I've discovered with Makita power tools. ... show more
