I bought my EGO hedge trimmer because I needed one and because I have several other EGO products. This trimmer is awesome! I've used it a few times and it vastly exceeded my expectations. Out of the box it was ready to go; I only needed to charge the battery and oil the blade. It cuts through the toughest material like butter. It will cut a one inch branch easily. It makes short work of even the toughest jobs. With a cordless trimmer there's no cord to lug around or cut. I love that you have to use both hands to use the trimmer, so it's very safe to use. Nice trimmer. Good power, battery life is long. A bit heavy for me but husband loves it! The only problem was registration of the product, took multiple calls and emails, need to register the trimmer, the battery and the charger all separately..proof of purchase receipt and definitely not easy.

If you are used to a corded or budget brand this hedge trimmer will be an experience. It is a longer bladed trimmer and powerful enough to cut through thick branches. It is also heavy and can become a little tiring after a bit of trimming. It has a safety feature that forces you to use two hands to operate it but based on the weight I don’t think most people would be able to do it single handed anyway. This becomes an issue if you have to trim in areas that are hard to reach or high. You might need a ladder or some creativity. It’s definitely a sturdy piece of equipment and one of the better quality cordless hedge trimmers I’ve used. It is probably overkill for someone with just a couple bushes to maintain but if you have more than a few or trim them regularly then this is worth the money. ... show more

I have never used battery powered yard equipment before, so I was hesitant about buying this hedge trimmer. I shouldn't have been. I LOVE IT. The battery charges up pretty quickly, and I'm not sure how long it actually runs, but I've never had it run out on me when trimming. In fact, after a few pretty big trimming jobs, it was still about half charged. Of course, I just got it for occasional use around the house, not any big commercial jobs or anything, so keep that in mind. It does a great job trimming different types of bushes as long as you keep the blades oiled. The blades are long enough to take care of a wide area quickly. And it is easy to handle, not too heavy. I really like this tool and the battery is interchangeable with other EGO tools, so I'm probably going to add an EGO chainsaw to my yard equipment at some point. I used it at the end of the season. It trimmed everything that I needed to trim in my yard without a lot of effort. Works very well. Wished I had this tool 30 years ago. Great value which should last my life time and then on to the kids.
