The media could not be loaded. review on March 18th, 2023. I could only fit 12 chicken eggs in this thing so I was disappointed with that as it was stated it could fit 16 chicken eggs. Temperature control is spot on, so I didn't worry about it too much. I did keep the Styrofoam outer shell it came in to help with regulating temperature. I also kept the machine in a small room with a thermostat-controlled heater to also help with regulating temperature in the machine as I keep my house cold. I did get a separate hygrometer to keep an eye on the temperature and humidity because the one big negative with this machine was that the humidity was all over the place. I had to check on it the best I could as I can't watch it all day. The water delivery "system" for this machine is total crap, DON'T use the water bottle as it will empty into the base of the machine, which is the ENTIRE bottom, there are no channels to minimize water evaporation. If you see condensation on the plastic viewing top, humidity is way too high. I would suggest doing a dry hatch as I have watched several youtubers have success with that. Lower humidity is better than too much. When I added water, I just barely filled halfway the little "cup" where the bottle top screws into about three times a day. Sometimes I put in less depending on the % of humidity. The humidity would range between 60% after putting in a LITTLE bit of water or it would be 20% when I would check on it 8 hours or so later after that little bit of water. **EDIT** I'm currently on my second batch of eggs and decided to add (by a suggestion from another reviewer) a simple kitchen sponge on the bottom where the water tube is connected to the base. I cut it to fit and placed where it will soak up the water as it comes in the machine. Doing this GREATLY helped to regulate/stabilize the humidity and I will add more sponge when it is time for lockdown for more humidity. I STILL have to babysit and add water but it is less frequent. YAY!! **The video here is starting my THIRD batch of eggs (leghorns) and the 12 chicks at the end were from the second batch of eggs. First batch of eggs results: Out of 12 eggs, three were infertile so I don't count those. The remaining 9 fertile eggs, I had 7 hatch, and they are doing very well. I did end up helping a four of them out of the shell after 12 hours of no progress after they initially pipped the shell. Maybe they would have gotten out on their own but I didn't want to take a chance and lose them! I just opened enough of the shell for them to get out the rest of the way on their own when they were ready. I know enough to know that the yolk has to be absorbed before they come out of the shell. It is why I waited so many hours before I took off about half the shell. All the chicks I helped did have the yolk absorbed so I feel confident about helping. I did not have any that were "shrink wrapped" so I don't know why they didn't continue pipping the shell. Maybe I was just too impatient. Ugh! Three did get out on their own and they did it fast! The two eggs that did not hatch, one stopped developing around day seven, I would guess, and the other died around day 14. I won't count those against the machine as it did a pretty good job at turning and keeping the eggs at temperature. I have raised chickens for 25 years, but this was my first time hatching them from a machine. I'd say it was a success and I promptly put in another dozen eggs! So far, all 12 are fertile. The instructions are basic and do not give much detail in HOW to manage running this machine as it incubates. I would not recommend this machine for a total beginner but after researching what other people had to recommend for incubating tips, you could make this machine work as I managed to do. I'm so disappointed in this incubator. We're on Day 13 of 35 with 3 goose eggs (which fit fine & rotate easily under the internal fan btw). I trusted the native temp guage for the first few days until the thermometer/hygrometers I bought arrived. Put three in just for fun - turns out the native temp guage was low by an average of 2 full degrees Celsius (almost 4 degrees F). So when I set it to 37.4C, I thought I was incubating them at 99.3F, but they were actually at ~95.5F for several days. Once I adjusted to compensate for the inaccuracy, more issues presented themselves: First, there's extreme variation in temp throughout the day. 39.5C on the native temp guage seems to be the sweet spot on average, but my thermometers inside have read anywhere from 98F to over 100F at this setting. Ambient temp is a consistent 70F always. No breezes or fluctuations. I have the incubator in the styrofoam packaging as recommended. Why is the temp changing?! Second, I have three thermometers inside, one on the left, one on the right, & one in the back. Currently, the left one reads 99.6F, the right one, 98.9F, & the back one 99. I bought a second set of thermometers (different brand) because I thought maybe the first ones were off. But no. Regardless of thermometer brand, or how I rearrange them, the left is always a lot hotter than the right. Why?! I'm trying to make the best of it for now - I think the chances of a successful hatch are really low, but all three eggs still seem to have growing goslings in them, so fingers crossed I guess. I'd like a refund, but to get one, I'd have to return the incubator and I'm mid-incubation so it is what it is. I chose this over a $200 incubator because of the reviews that said they got good hatches out of it - but note that almost all the reviews that mention successful hatches are from people who were gifted free incubators! Wish I'd noticed that before buying. Last thing - as stated in other reviews, humidity control is not at all built in. I knew this going in, so not a disappointment, but I've been running it without adding any water (humidity reads ~40% inside) and my eggs seem to be losing weight at the correct rate. If it becomes an issue, I'll opt for a wet sponge in the basin rather than the provided bottle, which essentially pools in the basin, spiking humidity to 80% without any control. The bottle will probably work well for lockdown, but not much else. If you've made it this far, basically just don't buy this incubator, ok? Learn from my mistake. Either let an actual mother bird hatch her babies herself or spend an extra couple hundred bucks so you don't have to carry the emotional burden of potentially frying/freezing/suffocating a bunch of little baby chicks because you were too cheap to spring for an incubator that actually works.

I love the look of it, the egg turner works great, and I currently have 15 eggs in it. However, there is no way to regulate the humidity. Adding a bottle of water kicked the humidity up to 80%, which is too high for the first 18 days. So the bottle was removed. Another con for me is that it has no vent. A vent would help regulate the humidity. You want to add a hydrometer for this incubator. After 24 hours, the hydrometer (also thermometer) read 6° below the display so I put a heat mat under it, and that got it to temp per hydrometer. I’m sticking with it through the 21 days and will update then. I would NOT add a water bottle until the last three days at this point.

Incubator was easy to assemble, I love the self rotating aspect. I wish the design was a little different in regards to the channels for the eggs, the self rotating seems to bunch the eggs into one end and I have to keep opening the system to reset the eggs. I wish there was a humidity setting, but I bought an after market hydrometer to place inside to monitor the humidity. Overall nice for the price.

It's easy to use, it's my first incubator. Keep the temperature well, and humidity. It's thin plastic though. I recommend it.

It worked on the second try. I needed a humidity meter and once I figured out how to keep it at 55% it worked fine. Thermometer seemed spot on.
