  • Wave 3 is GREAT!
Style: WAVE 3 Air Conditioner
I recently purchased the Wave 3 and have been using it for a few weeks now. It has really exceeded my expectations. I own other EcoFlow devices as well and went ahead and bought the EcoFlow Extra Battery Cable and am using the EcoFlow Delta Max to power it and it is working perfectly. This setup has really changed the way I manage off-grid cooling for my small shop. The cooling performance is phenomenal for a portable unit. The Wave 3 drops the temperature impressively fast and maintains it without loud noise or clunky operation. I am very happy with it! The integration is also very nice and monitoring power consumption through the EcoFlow app is super convenient. This combo has been a huge win for me when it comes to portable cooling. The Wave 3 is a solid backup for unexpected heat waves. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, off-grid cooling solution for smaller spaces. ... show more

  • Versatile, powerful AC/heat pump...worth the upgrade
Style: WAVE 3 Air Conditioner
Amazing little device. I was looking for something versatile to cover multiple scenarios: RV living, and single room conditioning in my home. Using the central HVAC was causing massive energy bills, so I was looking for a solution to lower the cost. Enter EcoFlow's Wave 3 portable air conditioner/heat pump. I tried it in my large master bedroom, and it was able to bring my room to unbearably cold temperatures. Of course, I won't normally turn it that low, but the increase to 6100 cooling BTU is a massive improvement from its predecessor, the Wave 2. The heat pump function is efficient too, maxing out at only around 500w (compared to 1-1.5kw on traditional space heaters). It added some toastiness to a cold room, and with powerful fans, it was able to circulate the heat well. A few bonus features that surprised me were the auto shut-off timer and new pet care mode that let's you keep the device operating within a certain temperature to keep pets comfortable and safe. The drainage problem of the previous Wave 2 seems to have been fixed as well, and the new insulated hoses (as opposed to non-insulated ones for the Wave 2) do a much better job of not radiating heat into the room when undesired. Controlling the unit from the EcoFlow app is intuitive and full-featured too. Incredibly useful! But the physical buttons on the unit itself offer the majority of the functions with a nice, bright LED screen. Finally, the upgrade to the new LFP battery is a much welcome addition. NCM (Wave 2) only has 800 cycles before dropping to 80% capacity, but the LFP has 4,000 cycles before that happens. The new battery also comes with a carry handle, so it's more convenient. However, a nice touch is that both the W2/W3 batteries work with both W2/W3. ... show more

  • Battery caused problems with EcoFlow River.
March 14, 2022 - After watching Will Prowse's two YouTube videos about the EcoFlow 600 (i.e., the River), both videos made about a year ago, I decided to buy 3 of them and three of the River Extra Batteries to go with them. However, just in case I discovered a problem, I initially ordered one River and one extra battery. It was good that I did because when I added the extra battery to the River it failed miserably. I had the same problems that Prowse encountered and he solved (to some degree) by a firmware update which was done via the EcoFlow App which he had downloaded to his phone. He had difficulty with the EcoFlow App in making that update, it took hours, but eventually he succeeded. I never crossed my mind that EcoFlow, knowing that a firmware update was necessary in order for the River to function properly with its extra battery, would send the River out without the update and, thus, in a defective condition. That would leave all of its buyers with a headache to have to deal with immediately after installation of the extra battery. Pretty inconsiderate thing for EoFlow to do. Here is what happened to me. I received the River and it seemed to work properly. I did not check to DC input (e.g., solar panel input) to verify its maximums as I figured it would be best to do that after I had received and installed the extra battery. I downloaded the EcoFlow app onto an Android phone using version 7.1.2. The app didn’t work. It recognized the River but would not connect to the internet which it had to do in order to effect any upgrade / update to the River. I viewed various YouTube videos on how to make such a connection but they were out-of-date. Nothing I tried worked. So the next morning, as soon as EcoFlow’ Customer Support Line was available (9am Eastern), I called. However, they were late manning their stations so I go a voice mail prompt. I did as it asked… left my name, my email address and my telephone number. The battery arrived a few days thereafter. I installed it and charged it up. Next I turned on the inverter, which had worked properly beforehand (as far as providing me with the UPS function, and that is when the problems began. The row of LED lights turned red and the River turned off the inverter. I went through a series of repeated tests, unplugging and replugging, turning the River off and then back on, and more but nothing helped. It was the same problem Prowse had encountered… the UPS function (power flow-through) would not work with the added extra battery. And there was no way I could update the firmware because the EcoFlow app did not work either. To make matters worse, the River would not recharge. After all of my testing the charge had dropped to 95% and it would not recharge. I used the River until the charge dropped to 92% but, still, it would not recharge. Again a series of tests but it simply would not recharge. It had been 5 days since I initially called EcoFlow and no one had contacted me. Again, I attempted to reach them by phone and this time I got a nice lady who asked me a series of questions in, what appeared to be, an attempt to diagnosis the problem. However, unless she had just begun to work at EcoFlow, she should have already known what the problem was. Prowse had informed them of it a year ago. Namely, the UPS function did not work with the added battery. She should have acknowledged an awareness of the problem and had a solution ready for me. She did not. So I ended the call before wasting any more time. I then separated the extra battery from the River and guess what. The River still would not recharge. Everything went back into its original boxes, I made a video tape to prove that all parts were being returned, then sent everything back to Amazon for a full refund. Conclusion: As I have already stated, there is evidence that EcoFLow is aware of the UPS problem and yet, apparently, they sold these devices in that defective condition anyway. They also know about the problem with their app (Version 2.7.0, Requires Android 5.0 and up) as it is complained about in many places (see the 2.0 rating out of 5.0 at Google Play). Consequently, because I smell unethical individuals at the top of the EcoFlow heap, I will not have any future dealings with them and suggest that others consider doing the same. ... show more

  • Awesome
Style: WAVE 3 Air Conditioner+Battery
The media could not be loaded. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Researched heavily. I have worked in the HVAC industry. I am certified. I actually saw a utube where the guy took a wave 2 apart. It’s a mini Heat pump which means it can do heat or cool. This unit does what it’s supposed to do. I have seen complaints about cooking tents in 100 degree or more. Rule of thumb. No matter the situation an efficient system can only cool 20 degrees lower than ambient. That’s the best scenario is if it’s 90. Then maybe 70. But tents are not insulated. So it’s all about directed air to keep you comfortable. This machine is incredible. It cost a ton with the battery but the battery is LifePo4. Well worth it ... show more

  • Get the battery it's worth the extra money
Style: WAVE 3 Air Conditioner+Battery
This thing works pretty good. The fact that does heating is pretty sweet. By its self it pulls about 300 watts so it's very efficient and you could run it off a small power inverter if need. Mine has a strange noise coming from the compressor at middle rpm so I need to contact ecoflow over that. Hopefully it's an easy fix overall it's good ... show more
