This ice maker is a blessing… haven’t had a working ice maker in the refrigerator for years and had to rely on ice trays. No one in the family wants to empty and refill the ice trays, but everyone wants to make sure this little guy is continuously working - had our ice bucket filled within hours. The ice is a perfect size - only con is the ice is normally wet when you place it in the freezer but with a little breaking apart - there are no other issues. Just received my ice maker and let it sit on the counter for 3 hours before using. Ran the wash cycle and then my first batch of ice. I did the small size first as I could not wait to get ice for my cold drink. Love it....I also ran some large ice bullets. Not very loud except when the bullets drop. My cats ran away until it became a familiar sound. THE ECOZY UNIT CAME WITH A 1 YEAR WARRANTY. I purchased a 2 year plan that I really didn't need. I now feel the extra warranty was not necessary. Ecozy followed up by email to see if I received the maker, offer extra assistance if needed and advise on first set up and use. ... show more

    • Not quite perfect but does the job
My previous ice machine from another brand broke after constant use for 6-7 years straight and needed a new one. I decided to try something different. I chose a smaller one on purpose but there are a few features I wish were different. The scoop it comes with is the ABSOLUTE wrong shape for the basket inside so I had to use a different scoop. The basket itself is shaped a little weird to accommodate for the smaller size machine but the shape makes it difficult to scoop ice out and I end up dripping water everywhere to pull the basket out to dump the ice. Not the worst but you do what you need to. My biggest issue is if you are not careful and the basket gets jostled just the right way you can come back later to get some ice and see that the basket was just a smidge in front of the sensor and the machine thought it was full and didn't product any ice.     • Ice could be colder
I set this up yesterday, let it sit for an hour, as instructed, ran the cleaning cycle, then started making ice. It's everything (so far) the ad said, and since the icemaker on our 38 year old SubZero built-in (came with the house) has stopped working, this is an easy answer until it's fixed. Hopefully, I can figure it out, because repairs on S-Zs are brutally expensive. But, in the meantime since the Sub only makes ice now when it wants to, this is an easy stop-gap. It is super-easy to set up and use, but wiping out the inside takes some thinner and smaller (not mention more flexible) hands than mine. The drain plug is especially difficult to remove when there's water in the reservoir. I know the machine is NOT a freezer, unable to store ice, but I do wish the ice was colder and didn't melt so fast. I would say stick with the large ice, which is still very small, not the small ice, because that melts even faster. I found it very easy to simply empty the ice-maker's basket directly into the Sub Zero's ice drawer. For an inexpensive item, I'm so far very pleased. Update: Amazon sent us a warning from Ecozy: Message from seller Ecozy Direct: Dear Customer, Thank you for choosing ecozy for your ice maker needs! First-time use: Prior to the first use, let the ice maker sit on a desk for an hour to deposit the refrigerant. Also, when you turn on the machine for the first time, add water into the tank and press the power button until the LARGE and SMALL indicators flash. This will start a 20-minute self-cleaning session, which can be stopped by pressing the power button. Ice storage: To avoid melting, we recommend using the included ice bags and standing ice scoop to transfer the ice cubes to the refrigerator for later use. Ice thickness: To achieve optimal ice thickness, we suggest running the machine for 3 cycles when you use it for the first time. Each cycle takes about 6-13 minutes. I bought this machine so I could stop buying ice. Follow the directions in the manual & you won't get that bad ice taste. The picture full of ice is after 1 hour on the large cube setting. The picture with less ice is 9 large cubes made in 7 minutes. Be sure to put the basket of ice in a bag & into the freezer asap as the machine won't keep the ice cold. I didn't want to pay more for that feature. For the price & how I plan to use the machine it's good. I gave it 4 stars because I want to see how well this machine keeps up over time. I may change it to 5 stars later. Eventually the machine will probably need a refill of whatever cooling agent it uses & depending on how service is at that point is why I'm reserving making a 5 star review today.     • It works great and it lets you know it.
When I got this, I figured if it was trash, I'd send it back. To my surprise, this little bugger is the engine that could! It makes ice like a champ....in 7 minutes per batch. The ice comes out pretty wet so if you stick it in the freezer, it will form a big lump if you don't break it up twice in 10 minute intervals. The only negative I have with this ice maker is that it is a noisy bugger. I put it in a bathroom and close the door so it doesn't grate on my nerves. This is so convenient. Just add some water and in an hour, you have all the ice you need for the day. I need to fill my kid’s water bottles everyone morning. I turn this on when I get up and Ny the kids are off to school, I have enough ice made to fill 4 water bottles. Also very quiet and make great sized ice. I highly recommend. ... show more
