This portable electric stove is really great to have for a small studio space, RV camping, dorm rooms, etc. It also does in fact get really really hot! And FAST! Just plug it in, and push the power button. It will automatically be set on a 2 hour timer and you can easily adjust the time on it. The setting buttons are easy to press on, and easy to navigate. The ring on the stove glows a very bright red and turns purple when you switch it off as it starts to cool down. This thing gets very hot and you can feel the heat from a couple feet away, so use responsibly and make sure to keep not only kids away while in use, but also anything that could melt or be damaged from heat away from it. This is something that needs to be on a completely flat surface while in use. This is also easy to clean. After it has completely cooled down, you can just wipe it down with a damp cloth. It’s easy to store as well, since it’s flat and like the size of a laptop, you can store it on a shelf. It doesn’t really take up any space with how flat it is. I’ve never owned something like this, so I don’t know how much an item like this would be or should be priced. But I think it’s a reasonable price for what it is. Especially with how fast it heats up and how convenient it is to have in a smaller space. This is perfect for my daughters dorm room and relatively safe as it isn’t an open flame, but still exercise proper caution with it as well.

This has been a great Electric Cooktop so far and I have been using it a lot. As a full-time RVer, it is things like this that I look for, compact, which saves me space and it works great! What else could I ask for? The settings are not quite intuitive with the presets of 01 being high and 03 being low, just something I have to get used to. I have not been able to get it hot enough to reverse sear a steak so far and I think that is more the pan that I am using over the unit itself. Other than getting that sorted out I have cooked everything from breakfast to dinner and that 2 am can't sleep gonna cook something craving without a hitch. I've even gone old school and popped some skillet popcorn on the cooktop. The lighted ring is a great feature after turning off the cooktop and saved a friend from burning their hand while the unit was cooling down. Because of its low profile and touch control recessed pad cleaning is little more than wiping the top off with a wet sponge. I have noticed though that cleaning after and before every use, the lettering for the presets is starting to fade a bit. I do not use any chemical cleaners on the cooktop just water to clean so that may be something for EconoHome to address in the near future. Really happy with this cooktop so far and look forward to creating great meals with little fuss. DKH

Very handy electric cooktop. Just plug and start using. Very simple to operate no complex buttons to press. I like how it gives instruction on the cooktop itself to set the temperature for certain cooking. Heating pad heats very fast no need to wait. Very fun to cook for every day use. Keeps the normal stove clean and overall kitchen cleanliness. Very easy to clean the cooktop after use. Can handle pots and pan medium to large size. Takes few min to cooldown which is expected. Also it can be taken and used anywhere which is very good. Very handy to have this cooktop.

I like it, heats up fairly fast, is a little loud, but has a strong fan. I gave 4 stars because it doesn't have a lock feature, I've shut it off or turned on, several times while cleaning it.

Got this to do some cooking in the garage or on the go somewhere (plug into a truck). This works great. It's fairly thin so doesn't take up to much space overall (height wise). The surface is very smooth and glass like and easy to clean. The controls are touch type so no worries if spills happen. The display is easy to read and shows the wattage you've set and the actual temp of the plate. I like that there are some presets. I was making tea and there's a boil setting, very easy. It actually heats up very quickly and gets HOT. So you'll need to either dial down the temps or adjust cooking times. The best part is that it doesn't generate too much heat away from the unit itself. But it does stay hot to the touch for a while after it's been turned off, but nothing super long. No flames is great also for the handles that tend to get charred up on my gas stove from flames coming up the side. The unit isn't light, but won't weigh you down either. The "thinness" of this will make transporting and storage very easy. Overall this is a great portable cooktop that you can use pretty much anywhere you can get power. I'd highly recommend it if you need something like this.

This is a really cool alternative to a traditional hot plate. I like having a set digital time and temp for a stove as opposed to my glass electric cook top that just has numbers on a dial that don't really mean anything. I set the this cooktop to high and put a pot with 4 cups of 75F water on it. It took about 2 minutes to come to a rolling boil. I feel much more comfortable letting my 11yo use this cooktop because of the direct nature of the settings and the timers. *Note* Read all of the instructions! I originally set the cooktop to just Boil and it took soooo long to get to a boil. You have to get the water to the boiling temperature using High first, then set it to boil to keep it there. That is pretty cool though in my opinion. My macaroni noodles were actually a bit overcooked at 7 minutes so I think this actually runs hotter than my usual stove (I know, boiing is boiling but it seems to keep a more stable temp.) I really like the bright pink colored ring when the surface is still hot. Having that visual marker is really important when cooking with children.
