Added these lights in a remodel. Very easy to install. No can to put up and install. One piece easy pieces. Connect electrical wires and snap in place of the hole created and done. We had pulled them out for painting and they are easy to pull out and put back.

These are thinner than the drywall where they are installed (not including the junction box), so they could be installed right over the top of a ceiling joist, with the junction box on one side or the other. The light is bright (1100 lumens is about equal to a 75 watt incandescent bulb) and it illuminates evenly across the whole surface of the light, so there's not a bright spot in the middle like a lot of other lights. The ability to select the color temperatures is a really nice feature so you can get just the right color depending on where the light is installed. I tried them all and they all work fine. Wire nuts are supplied and the wires are pre-stripped, so installation is very quick and easy. You just need to get a wire clamp (the plastic kind work great), and remove one of the knockouts to insert the supply wire with the clamp. Two machine screws (no nuts) are included which I assume are for hanging the junction box, but I think wood screws would have been better. I had to use my own wood screws. ... show more
