I read another review that said to hang them where you want, and then untie them. I did that and it was easy. It comes with a hook if you want to hang them up. I bought this specifically for an event we were having. And I needed it for decorating our trunk that would be outside. It did not go as planned. We decorated the trunk and everything and were fascinated by the different settings. They seemed very true to what they were and it was nice to have so many options. The only thing that made it not really go as planned was even when it was really dark outside. You couldn’t necessarily see, the lights twinkling. We could put it on one of the more extreme options and he still cannot really be able to see them. Overall, we really like them will probably end up putting them in my daughters room on her wall. Just wasn’t exactly what we thought when we bought them for what we bought them for. They are sturdy they held up well! They just were not as bright as I thought they would be this is with me reading all their reviews as well. They just did not seem as bright, and I was very surprised by the sturdiness of them for the price tag. ... show more

I got these for my front porch and they were easy to install. I recommend hanging the main line and then dropping the strands to avoid a tangled mess. Love that it comes with a remote and can do different modes. I also put a little plastic bag over the battery box and zip tied it, not sure how it’ll do after some rain. The media could not be loaded. Colors are perfect, nice and bright. It's long and goes down to our floors and then some (but looks great folded back up). Remote works just fine. At first i was a dummy and thought they didn't work at all lol but they take 4 triple a batteries, very simple sort of complicated set up but i recommended not untying any of the bands on the light for an easier set up then letting them loose so you can easily adjust the length. These are advertised for use in the garden and yard, for being waterproof, and thunderproof, so I thought they would fine under a covered porch. We had them up during the month of October. I took them down on November 2 and noticed that many of the lights had rusted.
