The ECHOGEAR surge protector/power strip is sturdily built and has low EM ripple. Each outlet has a sliding cover that prevents accidental insertion of fingers and paws by naughty children or pets as well as preventing dust from getting into the contacts. This is a big plus over other brands. The 15w USB-C charging port and the USB-A port are nice to haves if you don't want to deal with the clutter of USB wall adapters for your mobile devices, but with many USB-C chargers being in excess of 20 or even 30W for fast charging, 15W is on the low side and you may want to stick with the charger that came with your device. With two rows of outlets (8 total) and about 1/4 of the surge protector existing without outlets (probably internal electronics), the surge protector isn't as compact as it could be, but it remains more compact than many competing surge protectors with two rows. Overall, this is a great surge protector.

I use it for extending power access, from behind a dresser drawer, to my TCL 10K btu window air conditioner (A/C). To have quick access to resetting the breaker on the A/C line plugged into the new power strip. And for occasional use of a class D speaker. So far so good. No heat detected in the power strip or A/C lines on these recent 90+ degree days in our attic.
