the set arrived in 5 boxes and was very well packaged. I looks just like the pictures, and looks lovely in our dining room. The butterfly leaf is awesome, it folds in place under the table when not used, and snaps secure the table shut. The finish, the color, the quality of the build all look excellent. The assembly was not hard, wife and I did the whole set in about an hour, our only complaint is the simplified instructions left a few things out. Mainly they didn't mention that there are TWO bolts to secure each chair leg, and it wasn't until we got to the end of the chairs and we saw all the extra bolts that we realized there were two for each leg, not one as pictured in the instructions. Also they failed to mention thatyou need to spread open up the table to expose the butterfly leaf and remove all the packaging materials before attaching the table to the pedestals. Anyway, with the large bolts and the support hoop to reinforce the chair legs (usally the first place a chair will fail), it looks like it will last, but only time will tell. We love our dining room table set! It's quality-made from solid hardwood at an extremely reasonable price. And we love the styling and look. But our circumstances might not match yours. We had been searching for a new dining room set locally and on Amazon during the height of the pandemic. Everywhere we looked had a delivery delay of 4-6 months. Finally, this set popped up, so we jumped on it. I had read many of the negative reviews but still felt confident this would work for us. And the real deal closer was Amazon's furniture assembly service. Between my Amazon and Ikea purchases, I have had enough furniture assembly to last a lifetime. The Amazon guys showed up, unloaded, assembled all eight chairs and table, removed all the boxes and packing materials (including vacuuming up the little styrofoam crumbs) and were gone in an hour! All for $89. And BTW, at the time of our purchase, this set was a little more than a $1000, including assembly fees. This is why Jeff Bezos is one of the richest men in the world. My wife and I are retired, so admittedly, the table does not get the rigorous daily workout our solid oak kitchen table does, but it has held up fine for family gatherings and holiday celebrations. I did read where one reviewer had problems with water spots, so I ordered a dark furniture wax and put a couple of coats on and buffed it out and it looks and performs great. No spots. I look forward to all the meals, birthdays, and holidays my family and I will have. Assembly was easy. I love the rich wood color. The bolts come loose, but easy fix. Over all it’s solid.

This will take a lot of time to assemble. The unpacking takes just as long as the assembly. Each 2 chairs are boxed and wrapped. A lot of boxes to open. Chairs were funky to assemble but got through it fine. Take your time. Placing the table on the pedestals was a challenge need a 2nd person at least and you kind of guess where the holes align. Very awkward. The bolts to attach the table to the pedestal also a challenge to reach but it can be done. Was not thought out well on that part. Table is heavy so get some help. Again, hate the Allen wrench bolt method takes so much longer hand cranking those things. Drill wholes were premium and aligned well. Do it in stages and not all at once. East West Furniture VANC9-OAK-W 9-Piece Dining Room Table Set. The screws fall out of the chairs all the time. So far my family as been lucky enough to notice them before or crawling baby, put it in his mouth and choked on it. Very dangerous to have the screws fall out if you have small children or animals. The quality of the chairs are cheap. Some of the chairs look like they are piece together and after normal use if the piece together area happens to be on the bottom of the leg, it will crack or split. The warranty didn't want to replace the one chair that has indeed split at the leg. Some other person at Amazon is trying to get it replaced. I also put a table cloth, with designs, on the table and now the design is a permanent thing on the top of the table. The table cloth made the shin come off the table and the design is left in its place. This is what happens when you order something on the internet instead of going in to a physical store. One star because I may have the same problem with a couple of other chairs. It would be no stars but I want to do a review to warn others with small children. ... show more

The table set arrived when promised, was packaged incredibly well with no damage and no missing parts. The set is sturdy and much better quality than expected. The only “issue” I found and it is barely noticeable is a small sliver of bare wood is noticeable at the rear of the seat where the cushion meets the ring of wood it sits on. Additional update. Three kids, two dogs, and four cats made it very evident very quickly that the table surface was fairly easy to get scratched and gouged. I put a few coats of spray on satin Minwax polyurethane to try to minimalize damage and add some hardness to the surface. ... show more

Dining room set is beautiful and solid wood easily installed, but the shipping was not in order so don’t expect delivery to be delivered on the date that Amazon gives you they shipped every piece every 2-3 days it was a little frustrating, but I finally got my order in. Minus the last two chairs that were delivered were the wrong type of chairs. You have to be on top of the seller!!! But Amazon customer service is great they responded quickly! ... show more
