The game selection is silly, it's way smaller than expected, and it's just kind of an off brand feeling toy. That said, it is a lot of fun in the sense that it can be played anywhere, and it is a huge hit with my youngest two boys. It's a fun little system that doesn't require anything but itself, which is perfect for little ones who want video games but aren't ready for the consoles yet.

This can be used stand alone entirely as it has its own battery. Included is a USB for charging the main system/TV battery. However the controller needs 2 AAA batteries that don't come with it. It is wireless. Also include is RCA audio/video cables if you would like to play on a larger monitor. The main system has super loud capable sound and a good quality monitor. I was impressed. There is a cute little dial to turn it on/off as well as change the volume. It looks like an old TV dial. It has no TV functionality itself otherwise. The low price makes it a great value with everything you get and the amount of games. You have to buy an additional controller to get the 2 player support. With that said the controller also seems to be good quality. A nice solid feel. No empty loose buttons.

It’s actually pretty cool. There’s so many games to choose from. I’ve never heard or played any of the stored games but so far it’s a cool little retro game player. The remote requires 2 triple a batteries while the tv screen can be charged via a micro usb cable, unfortunately not usb-c. This will make an awesome gift to anyone. It can practically be played anywhere as well. I do wish some of the games had a better preview to see what exactly each game is. Would be cool if it had the power to have like a rolling screen shot effect when you hover over a game selection. Overall I’m happy I ordered it and got the chance to actually play it. The screen is sort of small so it’s also cool they added an rca wire for video and sound.

The hardware itself I consider pretty cute. Very impressed by the controller being wireless and nor IR as I was fearing. Controls are responsive and controller feels fine so no complaints there. The feature of a stand alone screen for it is just fun. Despite the odd choice to make the entire tv look like it's made of wood. Think they missed the boat of how woodgrain retro look works. Started right up and can imagine a child spending some time playing. As it was a famiclone I expected a few recognizable games but was instead shown many either gamejam stype original games or other super simple faire that might be copyrighted but not quite. Core problem is not the build or the controller. The problem is the games. there are a claimed 161 games but all have the worst nes color pallet imaginable. Sickly orange and browns. In credible overuse in fact. Every game is yech on the eyes. On top of that, this is absolutely not taking any advantage and everygame feels like a time wasting slog with little fun. Way way WAY too many games are surviving until you can progress in not a fun way. Just the barest of game concepts, things you get bored with in 2 minutes. Just a real shame. Because I was fully ready to enjoy this only to find a library of nothing enjoyable. I even had hope maybe I could change out the rom in this thing to no avail. Good news is the screen is very generic so maybe a pi could be added in with significant. Comes apart easy but at it's price you could do better buying the parts and 3d printing the setup.
