Cons: Useless in heavy/wet snow. Auger clogs every few inches. Lacks power to get thru and auger stops constantly. So lightweight I have to tilt it upwards to try and get it pickup the snow. Initial build quality issues (e.g., pealing off decals when brand new). Expensive given the limited use cases. In 5" of heavy/wet snow it was more of an hindrance than a help. Had to use a shovel instead. Disappointed. Pros: Sturdy so far. Useful for 3 in. or less of light powder snow. Effective with the right type of snow. I would return if I could. Assembly would have been easier except a preassembled part was on backwards. Was able to correct myself. Have used the snow thrower a few times now. CON: 1. Does not perform well if more than a few inches. 2. does not consistently throw the snow the same distance. 3. does not get down to the surface, leaves 1/4" of snow. PRO: The corded version is powerful and It removes enough snow to clear an area and I don't have to lift shovels full of heavy snow. ... show more

    • Cleared my roof in half the time it would take me to shovel it off! Amazing machine!
We got 24 inches of wet heavy snow last week, on top of the 12 inches we got 7 days before that. I bought this product to clean off my roof of my house. I was super skeptical, but I thought what the heck for the price. I really gave it a work out. I didn't baby this machine at all! I was actually hard on it, and was really expecting it to break or seize up. Not only did it hold up, it never ever once stopped moving snow! No matter how hard I shoved it into the snow back! Battery clip already broke. Only the 3rd time using the Earthwise Snow Thrower. Trying to find a way to contact company for a warranty replacement. Not so easy. Without the clip for the battery, the battery will not stay in place. This kills the power and makes the snow thrower useless. Update: I found the correct company as Amazon provided the wrong link to the wrong company. Replacement battery was shipped and received in 1 day. Excellent. We finally got enough snow to use the product. We've had heavy wet snow each time, so don't know how it would handle light, fluffy stuff. Based on the inches, we find it takes about 1/2 off the top the first run. We use mostly on a driveway and street. I still prefer to do decks by hand. The battery charges quickly. Love it. I'm 70 and live in Michigan. This machine has a LOT going for it. Light enough to move around easily. Power to throw the snow...surprisingly good. Clears my walks and driveway well. And no shoveling! Why didn't I get this sooner and save some heavy winter work! It is not a heavy duty machine to easily clear heavy amounts of snow. But it will do it if you finesse it a bit. Battery charges fast. Seems well built but...one problem. The handle that turns the snow shoot was balky, then finally simply broke. That handle is flimsy, handle it with care. I can still rotate the snow shoot manually, so no big deal. Just not enough to take a star off this baby. Highly recommended, If you're a senior don't hesitate. ... show more

I've owned this little powerhouse for only about 2 weeks and 2 snowstorms so far, and we've used it exactly 2x. I'm writing this on Feb 23 2021, and I live in NE Pennsylvania. This little snow blower has proven to be a marvelous machine so far, and has worked well on our long gravel driveway. If it holds up, I'll be thrilled. If it doesn't, Ill try to update this review. A few parts needed to be put together on arrival, no tools needed, pretty straightforward. The only difficulty I had was a small bracket on the center of the handle to hold the hand crank was put on backwards by the manufacturer, and had to be removed and reversed for the crank to fit. I charged the battery fully before use. Once charged, the snow blower powered on and worked for 30 min straight in a 4-5" accumulation of light powder, almost exactly the time needed to clear my driveway. It even did a noble job of clearing some older heavier accumulation, but I had to be careful to keep it tilted to keep the auger off the ice below it. It doesn't clear snow down to the ground, but leaves about 1/4" layer behind. This is perfect for us, since it helps avoid the problems I have heard about when using a snow thrower on a gravel driveway. the layer below is easily ignored or quickly cleared with a shovel. It's lightweight (maybe 20 lbs?) and easy to maneuver. In areas of looser gravel, I tilt the blower back on it's wheels a bit to leave a deeper snow layer, works fine. Battery charge time is supposed to be 2.5 hrs, though I haven't watched it to confirm. That's actually perfect for going back out in a continuing storm. I wouldn't recommend it for more than 4-6" at a time by going out multiple times in a storm, but it can do quite a lot, and so far I love it! ... show more
