Description

The Earthquake Chipper Shredder K32 features a compact, portable design and is the ideal height for operation, the right geometry for easy transport, and compact for efficient storage. The unit stands 51” tall, so there is no need to lift material over your head. The handlebar is angled to put the center of gravity directly above the wheels for stability during transport. The compact, square shape of the unit gives it a small footprint in the garage. Many chipper shredders have wheels fitted with inflated tires. The downside with these wheels is that they can go flat. The Earthquake wheels will never go flat, so they are ready to roll when you are. Additionally, the 11” wheels on the Earthquake are large enough in diameter to tackle ruts and grooves en route to the work site. Made with tough, durable components, the Earthquake K32 is made to last. The rugged steel hopper is designed to efficiently feed plant matter into the grinding chamber and to withstand the bangs and bumps that occur when working with large limbs. Also, in the grinding chamber the tri- and j-hammers will reduce material drastically. This chipper is strong enough to power through 3” diameter branches and masses of leaves and twigs. Many chipper shredders don’t include a debris bag. Earthquake not only includes a bag as standard equipment; it also has features not seen elsewhere that make it the easiest bag to use in the industry. Among its features are a Bottom-Out zipper, rugged fabric handles for carrying, and a Dock-and-Lock bag connector that allows you to connect your bag to the unit securely and remove it quickly. Earthquake is one of the only products on the market that offers an optional vacuum kit. Jobs like leaf clean-up, and grass-clipping are just some of the tasks a vacuum kit can make easier. I needed something to pull my Predator wood chipper behind my four wheeler and this was the perfect fit and works great. Should fit the Predator chippers sold by Amazon and Harbor Freight. I did modify it so I could put a pin through the sliding shaft instead of using the enclosed little bolt and having to carry a wrench whenever it needed adjusted. It's not necessary but I highly recommend it. I drilled a hole at the upright travel position and another where the machine sits firmly on the ground for use. Now all I have to do when I get to the location of the limbs is pull the pin from the tow position and slide it in the running position, no tools needed, and it's ready to go! ... show more

I live on a heavily wooded lot. Lots of branches fall into my yard on a regular basis. I purchased the chipper as a way to manage those branches. It works, great. It handles anything up to appx 4 inches.

The media could not be loaded. I have an acre property and lots of landscaping and trees so plenty of trimmings and leaves. This machine handled the clean up of a recent storms with ease. I recommend a bit of prep before actually starting the mulching process such as cutting the larger pieces at the forks of the wood. This makes the process go faster and it prevents wood getting stuck in the feeder. I cannot speak to the collection bag as I did not use it. I have a mulch pile on the back of my property so I just set the machine near the mulch pile and let the machine discharge directly onto the pile. The machine is easy to maneuver from barn to this location. This also makes the mulching process faster. The only negative that I experienced was the cover on the chute. It broke immediately while trying to install it on the machine. Lucky that I find I do not need it to operate the machine as I do. Another plus is that I have run the machine almost three hours of heavy workload on one tank of gas. It operates efficiently and saves time without having to stop your work to refill the tank. ... show more

Edited Jan 2024. Original review @ Feb 2023. The GOOD: This is a branch eating, leaf chewing, twig grinding monster! See pic of the results of leaves branches and twigs chewed up by the machine. I’ve run it for about a week straight now and am pleased with its compact design and mechanical performance. The BAD: 1: The PLASTIC connector cracked/ broke (see pic) I tried to repair it with epoxy but It didn’t really hold together. That’s a crucial part if you want to catch the ejected debris from the machine. Replacement cost is @ $37 plus shipping. 2: The bag threading is coming undone (see pic) They used a light gauge thread where I would recommend a heavy duty nylon thread with double or triple stitching. To replace the bag it’ll cost @ $134 unless you have some sewing skills. 3. In October 2023 as I was inspecting the machine I bought in Feb 2023 up for Fall work I discovered the welds on the leaf hopper were coming apart. It was difficult establishing communications with the CS dept but eventually I did and was promised a replacement hopper by December 2023. It’s now Jan 2024 and still no hopper. 4. The cutters go dull after one season and the design requires you to purchase special locking devices for the bolts that secure the cutters. 1 star for poor quality and poor customer service. The performace is 4 stars Material quality is 1 stars Warranty Support 1 star Overall rating is 1 stars. ... show more

I would give this a higher rating but the company pissed me off initially when it was supposed to be delivered in a week and ended up taking 3 weeks just to ship. Instructions weren't incredibly clear or detailed. Finding the right washers for build-up was a little misleading. The leather straps that go into the hopper aren't listed in the instructions. As far as operation goes, the shredder portion on top works great and eats everything the right size range that I feed it. The chipper is a bit of a let down. Manual says 3" but if that wood is properly seasoned it'll be far too much of a pain to use. Very wet or overly dry works pretty well, but if it would make good firewood it should be disposed of as such. A nice additional tool to add would be something to help push stubborn logs down the shoot. I found the perfect sized branch to do so but not everyone can get as lucky as I did. ... show more

I have had this for a while now, works great, I tow a heavy chipper behind my garden tractor where I need it. Have a little over 2 acres of trees etc. that I use the chipper for. Before I found the tow bar I was having to roll the chipper around by hand. Not easy as this chipper is an older model that is solid steel, no plastic anywhere, making it very heavy. First hitch I was sent had signs of being used. Rust in some spots and I could see the threads had visible marks where the hitch was put together and the nuts tightened , then removed. And a couple of quick release pins were missing. I complained to customer service asking them to send me the missing pins, they sent me a new complete hitch. I was very impressed, seems like the last few years customer service is a forgotten thing when you purchase items on line. ... show more
