I used this for my large dog to try to help with his currently problematic left ear. When I first used it, I did notice that it did a good job of helping clean the gunk out of his ear and to overall keep it gunk-free for a couple days, but I wouldn’t say it works as a treatment because his issues kept returning. I think this should just be marketed as an ear cleaner. As far as the cleaner itself, I don’t think it had a bad smell at all, and my dog didn’t seem to mind either. Usually he’s picky with stuff like that. I also didn’t notice it cause him any irritation or discomfort/stinging, which is what I want from an ear treatment for him. 3/5 stars because the “treatment” didn’t seem to stick.

This gentle HOCl-based ear cleaner has been a lifesaver for my poor dog who has really bad ears—he’s always had that miserable itch and hates anyone touching them so much that full cleanings were impossible without a major struggle. I’d sneak a bit of the solution onto my finger and gently rub it in while he was distracted or half-asleep, and even with that super minimal contact, I could tell right away it was helping. No stinging, no drama—he doesn’t flinch or pull away like he did with other stuff—and within minutes he’d stop scratching at his ear like crazy and just relax, looking so much more comfortable and soothed. The mild, alcohol-free formula is perfect for his sensitive situation; it clears out the gunk and odor without any harshness, and over the past couple of weeks of sneaky daily applications, his ears look and smell way better with way less redness and buildup. I love how safe and natural it feels (hypochlorous acid is basically what his body uses to fight bugs anyway), and the fact that it’s easy to use in tiny amounts makes it workable for a dog who despises ear handling. I ordered the Vetenix EARMYCIN Ear Drops for my cat to help with minor ear irritation and dirty ears, and so far it’s worked well for routine cleaning, his ears look noticeably better. The HOCl-based, alcohol-free formula is very gentle and I haven’t seen any reactions, so it’s a good fit for pets with sensitive ears and for daily ear care. The soft-drop nozzle makes application easy and precise, and the drip bottle feels safe to use without worrying about spraying or mess. There’s no strong or unpleasant smell, and the water-light, non-irritating solution seems soothing. It’s also convenient for multi-pet homes since it’s suitable for dogs, cats, and other household pets, and can be used indoors or outdoors as part of routine care. Important note: this is great for regular cleaning and maintenance, but it’s not a substitute for veterinary care, if your pet has an active ear infection, take them to the vet. Overall, good value for the money and a solid option for gentle, everyday ear care. Taking off a star because it advertises for ear infection treatment but I don't know how well this product would work for an active infection.

My senior girl has floppy ears, which unfortunately means we deal with ear irritation more often than I’d like. Dogs with floppy ears just tend to trap moisture, and that can lead to that yeasty “ick” we all recognize. First and foremost: this does NOT replace a vet visit or prescription ear medication when there could be a true infection. I've been in animal rescue for over 12 years and if any of my dogs are shaking their heads more than 3 times in a short time-frame, the vet definitely needs to take a look. But for those in-between times, when her ears are starting to get itchy or a little funky, these drops have been very helpful. The formula contains hypochlorous acid (0.02%), which is known for being gentle yet effective at cleansing and soothing. My pup has very sensitive skin and is usually ear-shy, but she doesn’t resist these drops at all. That tells me they’re not stinging or causing discomfort. In fact, she seems pretty relieved after I use them, and I get lots of sloppy kisses from her afterwards. LOL! The dropper bottle makes application easy, and the size is convenient for keeping with out pet care supplies. I use it as part of our regular ear maintenance routine to help keep things clean and reduce buildup. For dogs prone to occasional ear irritation, especially the floppy-eared doggos, this is a great to have handy.

I asked my Veterinarian about using these Vetenix EARMYCIN Ear Infection Treatment Drops on our pets, most especially our two pups who are prone to ear infections. She approved of us using them as a supplement after activities that may cause debris (the beach, hiking) or getting wet as either a rinse or after rinsing. Only 2-3 drops are needed per ear and they do not have to be rinsed or dried out making them easy to use. The EARMYCIN Ear Infection Drops can also be used as an interim treatment while waiting to get into your Veterinarian for a suspected ear infection. The drops have a quality safety seal and do not have any offending odor. They are FDA approved and Dermatologically tested for your pet’s safety. The soft cotton cleaning pads that come with the drops are not scratchy or rough and will not cause increased irritation to your pet if they have an infection. For the quality ingredients, multiple uses, potential comfort for my pet, and peace of mind that these drops offer I believe that they are well worth the minimal cost.
