  • Lies!
Color: Royal Blue Size: 10' x 10' Style: Canopy
Don't let the letters "EZ" fool you people. When I saw EZup, I though it was going to be like pushing a button on an automatic umbrella. This is not something a small framed lady can do alone without some Wheaties and a weight lifting regimen. After 20 minute of completely winding myself trying to push the legs up high enough to engage the fastening pin, I finally had to sit in a chair and push the legs up with my feet until I got the pins to pop in the holes. You have to have some serious upper body strength to push them up, which I do not have. If they would have just put a larger foot on the legs, I probably could have stood on feet while trying to push the legs up with my hands till the pin engaged. All in all it finally took me about 30 minutes to get this thing up. I just about lost it to the wind trying to extend the legs one at a time. This is not EZ Up in my opinion. If it takes less than 5 minutes, I could call it EZ. Also, the instructions say not to use it in the rain? Is it not waterproof? In addition, I feel like the canopy should fold over longer along the sides, this isn't going to block out much sun that isn't straight over head. Good Luck folks! Very disappointing for the price. SMH. :/ ... show more

  • Good product - amazing price!
Color: Royal Blue Size: 10' x 10' Style: Canopy
This is a good all-round product and it comes at an amazing price! I desperately needed a sun shade for my back yard to provide some protection from the unrelenting Las Vegas sun, however I did not have a large budget. I looked at probably every type of canopy, umbrella and gazebo under $500 that is available and was eventually persuaded by the price of the Sierra II. It can get real windy in Las Vegas so I wanted a product that I could take down quickly if needed. When I first assembled it, it probably took 2 of us about 10 minutes, carefully following the instructions. It was relatvely easy for 2 people - we took our time as we wanted to do it properly. The instructions were pretty good - there was the occasional bit of re-reading to make sure we understood properly, but no more than you normally get. Taking it down was easy. Second time we assembled it, it took under 2 minutes. It could be done relatively easily by one person - it would just take a little longer. The product is lightweight and comes with a good carry case - similar to a small golf club bag. Could be carried by one person and It could be easily transported. Because the canopy is lightweight, it is not very good in coping with winds. It does come with tent pegs/pins so can be secured into soft ground. I haven't tested if this makes the canopy secure so can't comment on that. However, if you are wanting to put it on hard ground, like I was (my concrete patio), then you are always going to be susceptible to winds. Because the frame is so lightweight, it would not take more than a light breeze to move or knock over the canopy. (Several other reviewers have already described fetching it from a neighbor's yard after a windy day). This means without additional weights to hold the canopy steady, you wouldn't be able to use it on a breezy or windy day. I'm lazy and didn't want to take it up and down constantly so I bought the additional weights. So, overall, I am giving it 4 stars as I think it is a good product. It has an amazing price so is very affordable. It is lightweight and easily transportable but could also be used as a more permanent structure. However this very lightweight quality does mean it is very susceptible to winds and does need extra support to keep it steady in anything stronger than a very light breeze. ... show more

  • No roller bag or stakes included, otherwise got it working
Color: Royal Blue Size: 12' x 12' Style: Canopy
Time of ownership: 2 days I am coming from Coleman 14'x14' popup canopy. My review will reflect my past experience with Coleman and compare it to E-Z UP Sierra II. We are using the canopy to create shade for $200 Acon trampoline. Canopy has to have enough headspace for kids (and me sometimes, I admit) to jump up and down safely. I am 6', and both canopies provide shade and enough space. Coleman frame is strong, it has additional folding out struts to give that 14'x14' coverage. It also has a vent hole in the middle and a small piece to cover it. Supposedly that hole should prevent the tent from creating lift in windy conditions. When the wind blew in my backyard, the whole structure got pulled to the side and vent did next to nothing. Tie down strings didn't help either, so when the weather strikes is best to take it down. The fabric lasts less than one season and becomes brittle. I could not find a replacement for the fabric top from Coleman. I went through 2 Coleman tents already in 2 seasons of use. E-Z UP Sierra II 12'x12' seems to have a denser fabric than Coleman, will update the review after the summer. There are no tie down lines with E-Z, and there is no stake down kit included with the tent (contrary to the description). Also, there is no roller case either. It says on the box that those things are optional extras. I like the geometry of Sierra II - the legs are not straight down but mores spread out and give wider, more stable base. That could be a problem if the tent is being set up next to another tent - plan accordingly. From looking at it, leg goes out extra 2 feet from the corner of canopy. Trying to push it up is not an easy task. To get the latches lock, I had to give it quite a push. My wife could not do it. That makes me doubtful that she could easily take it down and put it back up. The tent will stand in the back yard through summer but I'll try to remember to take it down when there is any kind of wind/weather in forecast. Will update the review with some use. So far the lack of stakes and case lost it a star, hard work to push it up cost it another. ... show more

  • Bought used and works well

Used for camping and it served us well thus far. It was easy to put up and disassemble. I have only used it for one camping trip, so unsure how durable.
