I use this with an Intex 18’ x 9’ x 52” Ultra XTR above ground pool with a sand filter pump and a wall mounted skimmer attachment. I’m in North Carolina and before using this product I struggled with my pool turning green multiple times due to heat and strong sun eating through chlorine quickly. My routine is fairly consistent. Every Friday I do a full maintenance clean where I brush the walls, skim the surface, and vacuum the bottom. My pump runs nightly from about 8 pm to 9 am, and I also use a chlorine tablet in a floater. After cleaning I add one scoop of this product by broadcasting it around the pool. With that routine plus the chlorine floater my water has stayed crystal clear throughout the entire season. I also have this on Subscribe & Save because I liked it enough to continue using it longterm. I just received my second container, which means the first one lasted me through an entire season of regular use. For my pool that puts the cost at roughly $120 for the season and I found that reasonable considering how much easier it has made maintenance. I haven’t needed to buy additional chemicals aside from standard chlorine pucks. $120 for an entire year of a clean pool and closing chemicals is great value in my opinion. Overall it has significantly reduced the stress of maintaining a pool, which is especially helpful for me as a parent with two young kids who use the pool often and a spouse who travels frequently for work. I also used this during closing season. In November I added two scoops, ran the pump overnight, lowered the water level, plugged the inlets, added a pool pillow, and covered the pool. Through the winter I made sure to remove debris and excess water from the cover when needed. When I opened the pool in April the water was still crystal clear. I was able to refill, add chlorine, vacuum stray leaves, run a shock “charge” dose, and was swimming again within a day after filtration. One thing I’ve noticed is that because I stay consistent with maintenance throughout the week including daily skimming when we use the pool I’ve been able to use slightly less than the recommended amount for my pool size while still maintaining clean water. Before using this, I had multiple issues with algae blooms during summer but since using this routine with this product my pool has stayed consistently clear even in strong North Carolina heat. The photos I’ve included show: 1. My pool on April 17th right after removing the winter cover before cleaning. 2. My pool last week after cleaning. 3. & 4. The instructions on the bucket label Pros: Helps maintain consistently clear water Works well in hot sunny climates Easy weekly application Pairs well with regular chlorine use Good results even after winter closing Cons: The lid takes a little getting used to but I actually really like it now that I’m used to it (kids cannot get into it). ... show more

This stuff really works! This is the 2nd year I've boughten this! I use it Once a week and it keeps the water CLEAR all summer! Its a little expensive, but it does work!

This product is not worth buying. It did absolutely nothing for my pool, even after adding 4 cups and then more. It was as if I was putting nothing in my pool . A total waste of over $100.
