Well, I honestly didn't think I'd be reviewing this any time soon or buying one considering the price, but then our stove caught our kitchen on fire along with my old beloved V10. Shoutout to my Dad's insurance for this V15. I'm what you would call a vacuum enthusiast, but my true love is with shop vacs. I make daily disasters in the shop. In the house on carpet and hard floor though, these cordless Dyson vacs (v10 or better) aren't a joke, they really work and they really replaced our old Dyson ball animal v2 completely. We have a 130lb infinite hair generator (yellow lab) and he generates as much hair as I do saw and metal dust. Not having to deal with a cord completely changed the way I vacuumed, from begrudgingly when my Dad told me to cause we're having company, to sort of enjoying it and doing it 4-5 times per week. I've shown the effectiveness of and actually sold 2 family members and 1 friend on cordless vacs. Unless you live in a small mansion with multiple pets I sincerely bet even an older or cheaper Dyson would suit your needs. Anyway how's the V15 compared to the V10? Yeah it's basically better in every way, unsurprisingly, but the surprise to me was the fact the green detect LED isn't some desperate gimmick, not entirely, it really shows just how clean (or not) your floors are. I'm not a clean freak, but the fluffy detect motorhead will reveal dirt dust and hair you didn't know was there. How much that actually matters is entirely dependent on your threshold for cleanliness but if nothing else it's a great visual reminder of what needs work and where you've been. The suction is fantastic and borderline ballistic on boost mode. I'm pretty confident I'll never encounter an actual need for boost mode but I'm so glad they added it. It doesn't feel any heavier than the v10 at the handle but it's been a minute since I've used the v10 as it got cooked. Battery life is impressive given the power. I could vacuum every single room of my dad's old 2700 sqft house with the v10 and an aftermarket 6.5ah battery in one charge. Given the higher suction and smaller 3.6ah battery of this v15 I hesitate to guess but I'd say it'd definitely be able to clean the vast majority's highest traffic/dirtiest areas on a charge for sure. The auto power adjustment was a little jarring at first and a feature I wasn't aware of, especially considering the 3 power settings you can still manually select, but it actually does it's thing and works great. I'm not sure if you can turn it off. The dust canister is easy and holds a similar if not larger amount of dust compared to the v10. The fluffy detect motorhead is actually eager to climb and hop some impressive elevation changes in your floor and floor dividers. On hard floors especially with the fluffy motorhead it's much more maneuverable and easier to push, but the carpet motorhead on carpet is definitely harder but not much more than the v10. It does a fantastic job on even medium to heavy pile carpet (Not those shag area rugs though) and makes lightning quick work of hard floors. For how much this costs you'd really hope it's good, and in my humble opinion it definitely is. Indoors this is the best vacuum I've ever used by 5 or 6 good country miles. ... show more

The Dyson V15 Detect Plus is honestly the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. The suction power is incredible — it picks up dust and pet hair I didn’t even know was there, and the laser illumination feature is a total game-changer. Seeing the hidden dust on hard floors is both satisfying and slightly terrifying! It transitions seamlessly between carpet, tile, and hardwood, and the digital display makes it easy to track battery life and adjust modes. It’s lightweight, quiet, and so easy to maneuver that cleaning actually feels effortless. The different attachments make it super versatile — I use it on stairs, couches, blinds, and even in my car. The bin is simple to empty, and I really appreciate how hygienic it is — no messy bags or filters to deal with. The battery life easily handles my entire house on a single charge, and it recharges quickly enough for quick touch-ups later. Everything about this vacuum feels premium and well-designed, from the materials to the smart features. That said, it is pricey — which is why I strongly recommend grabbing it when it’s on sale. After my last three disappointing vacuum cleaners that either stopped working within a couple of months or underperformed, I decided to invest in a Dyson. Most expensive vacuum I ever owned but also the best! Don’t be fooled by wannabe Dyson lookalike models that seem to have amazing reviews. I have wasted about $300 on cheap options within the past year or so. As a working mom of super messy and active 3 year old twin boys, I don’t have much time for house cleaning. This Dyson picks up dust and dirt like nothing I have seen before. It also picks up large pieces of crumbs and snack bits which are typically scattered everywhere ALL THE TIME. Battery’s charge lasts a long time. Suctioning so strong that I had to adjust how I normally vacuum rugs (eco setting). Only thing that I can complain about is that you have to hold down the button to keep it on. With a couple of uses though, I got used to it and it became second nature. I bought this Dyson on sale during Amazon Prime Day and it was still expensive. After a few uses, though, became clear to me that this is worth saving and budgeting for!
