I have really mixed feelings about this product. When I heard Dyson was coming out with hair products, I was eager to try them. The AirStraight is my holy grail hair tool. I have fine, wavy, color treated hair so it can get a bit unruly and/or weighed down with the wrong products. I was pleasantly surprised that this did not weigh my hair down at all or make it feel greasy. My hair was medium damp when I applied. It's important to note that this is a PRIMER which is not well highlighted. This means it should be one of the first products you apply then any others you can layer on top of it if needed. I do normally use other primers depending on the look I'm trying to achieve and they do help - this one performs similarly to others that I've used that are half the price. I will also add that while this does help with styling and works, it has NO heat protection. If you are applying heat (flat iron, dryer, curling iron, whatever) you will/should use a heat protectant over this. Frankly for the price point I find it pretty inexcusable that it doesn't include a heat protectant. The packaging is cool but overly complicated. It's nice that it's refillable though and magnetic if you want a gadgety feeling container. It's a bit gimmicky IMO. You really don't use a lot of product so for me this will last years. I don't think I would repurchase but I will use it and it does perform well.

At first I thought this was a ridiculously pretentious and overpriced styling product. Then I received it and tried to figure out how it opens and, well, it is a pretentious overpriced styling cream. I'm not entirely sure why the packaging for this needs to be so complex and look like a robot but I guess that's the brand way. It has a light smell, it's not unpleasant but it definitely smells like a salon quality chemical filled product. At first I followed directions, applied two pumps to damp hair. I then blow dried using my round brush blow dryer. I didn't notice anything. This morning I tried it on wetter hair with four pumps of product and it actually worked much better. I have rather fine hair, baby fine really, and wavy. I noticed it did help with my fly aways when using it my way. I also noticed it isn't heavy for my hair, like a lot if not most other styling products are. I would have given it 4 stars if the bottle wasn't so over the top, which is why I think its so expensive.

Dyson Chitosan Pre-style Cream: $59.99 for a 3.38oz bottle at the time of review This review will be coming from the perspective of my wife, as my hair is much too short to take advantage of something like this. She wanted to give this a try as she was curious to see what the Dyson brand could bring to the consumables side of hair care. My wife has long thin hair so she's historically had trouble finding the right hairstyle products to really make hers stand out. When she saw this style cream she thought it would be a good alternative to mousse. The overall results are good. It does seem to be a little bit more effective than her daily driver hair mousse at managing her thin hair. She liked the styling results and how easy it was to use. One of the big benefits touted by this product is it's durability in high humidity environments. We don't live in one of those, so we can't speak to its efficacy there. She does feel it's important to address the elephant in the room though, the cost. At $60 for just under 3 1/2 ounces, this product is significantly more expensive than her regular styling foam (around $17 for a similar amount). Ultimately, my wife liked the added hold and ability to work well with thin hair. However, she did not feel that it's worth over three times the cost of her regular product. That being said, I only deduct a single star for poor perceived value proposition. So our final score here will be four stars out of five. If you have the money to spend on this, it's hard to go wrong. We probably won't order it over again though at this price.

I use a couple of pumps when I get out of the shower and massage them through my hair. A quick styling and I'm done. Once my hair is dry I run a brush through it and it give it a nice hold without additional products. Leaves hair bouncy, full and shiny. The quantity you get with each pump does vary quite a bit though.

I wasn't too impress with this product. I don't think it really contributes much to the styling process. I added some product when my hair was toweled dried. Goes on smoothly. It didn't seem to do much after I blow dried my hair. My hair looked the same, if not worse after using this product. It seemed frizzy. I do like the bottle/applicator. The cap attaches to the base and locks in with the magnetic piece. I dropped the bottle and the magnet broke. There was still some left so the cap still stuck on. I would say "meh" for this product.

I usually use very strong hold almost spikey product on my hair as I want it to stay where I put it, but I decided to give this a shot. It is fairly expensive and the bottle looks like something out of the future. It takes a minute to figure out even how to get the product out. You press the bottle down on your hand and a bit comes out. I like to place it on my individual fingers so I can control the placement and it is hard to do with this bottle, it is made for more of a pump into your hand kind of application. I do very much like how it makes my hair feel. It is very softening and has a very light nice fragrance. Overall it is an excellent product that makes my hair very silky and smooth and I would recommend it to everyone. Just a bit expensive for me, but probably not for others. Enjoy! :)
