I've had these about a month and I absolutely love them. They come on after dusk and seem to stay on about 8 hours. They do need full sunlight as one of mine was only burning for about 4 hours I moved it to where it had direct sunlight and now there's no issue. It's amazing how that light bulb actually looks like a fire when you're 30 or 40 ft away, of course sitting on the porch by them I love the flickering and it provides just enough light to sit outside and not draw bugs. Not sure about longevity yet only time will tell. They are extremely light, and I'm sure would be destroyed even in a small hail storm but they easily come off the screwed on base and can be brought undercover if a storm is coming. ... show more

For the price it wasn't a disappointment. But The lights only stay lit for about four to five hours not overnight. Of course it is winter and the sun doesn't shine long to charge them during the day. I thought the lights looked pretty good as flickering flame. The plastic housing was a bit on the cheap side but again for the price it worked. It looks like to keep them going in the winter I am going to have to change the batteries a bit more often than I would like. Definately I would recommend ;putting them near sun light from morning until evening if you want the most out of them. Don't have any trees or walls or any other obstacle in their way. Would I buy again? Well if I had a spot in the open sun maybe. ... show more

I like but don’t love the brightness and color balance of these as I have four of them installed, on a south facing deck that gets full sun from before 6a to 8:30pm. The charge rate isn’t the best and I suspect it’s because of inferior batteries. The other set of a different brand is the worst vs about eight of a small set that burn all night long. So I’ll go ahead and exchange batteries. I like how they look around my smoker but again the brightness is a bit low for my tastes. These are typically easy to install so no surprises regarding the use of the screws. But watch for how corrosion hits as the months wear on, I’m not sure if the screws are stainless steel (and if so, whether they’re cheap or high quality stainless rating as there are a number of different codes for stainless levels). I’d have given it 4 stars but the fact that I’ll install a higher mAh battery in four of these means that this is an average but not nice quality unit. ... show more

It’s cheap, but well thought out. It’s not going to light up anything, but it’s bright and you can see it from a distance. The flickering looks VERY good! It’s lasted a full 12 hours+ on its first charge. I’m using it on driveway posts. It fits well, but just slightly loose on my standard size weathered post. I used both plastic caps (they fit together nicely) and it’s a nice tight fit and I cut off the plastic excess of the bigger mount. It has withstood its first thunderstorm! (It’s the yellow light in the middle of the picture. Tough to get a realistic picture with my iPhone correcting for everything! The store lights are not that bright and this light shows up well in the dark) ... show more
