The media could not be loaded. Needed a little heater and a fireplace insert. I didn’t even know these existed until I thought about it & found this! It fits my standard sized fireplace perfectly. I did take out my insert and put this directly in my fireplace. It has a bunch of different settings. Brightness of fire changes, the flicker can be fast or slow, and temp can be adjusted. Duraflame has always been a great brand in there other products so i knew this would be worth the money. I took it out of the box inserted and plugged it in. Very easy to install. It lights up the functions on the back of the fireplace. It’s very sturdy and built well. Would buy again for my upstairs fireplace. Love this log choice. ... show more

We looked at several electric log sets to put into our wood fireplace. While we like real wood fires, we got tired of all the work that went in getting them going, keeping them going, and cleaning up the ash. Most of the sets didn't seem realistic to us at all... but these looked reasonable and the cost was right. What we got was better than we expected. The size of the set looked proportional for our fireplace, and looked more realistic than expected (not perfect, but very good). There are a lot of adjustments, for size of flame and brightness, flame speed, and heat. We were pleasantly surprised that this actually puts out more heat than we expected. We wanted some heat, but didn't have high expectations. This overdelivered. You can adjust the temperature or turn off the heat altogether. Sitting on my sofa and adjusting everything by remote control is MUCH nicer than having to get up all evening to stoke the fire or add more logs... and no cleanup! Very satisfied. ... show more

    • Looks nice but puts out NO heat!
This is a quality made electric fireplace. We just bought a house with a wood burning fireplace that is just too much work for us. We were used to a large fireplace that had a pellet stove insert. Unfortunately it became too much work for us to handle. This house is built on a slab and the floors are really cold! I was hoping for a nice electric fireplace heater and have tried 3 so far. Unfortunately none of them really put out any heat during this really cold winter season. So we decided to return them. I’m disappointed that there doesn’t seem to be any heater that fits in our small firebox that works. So we decided to get a Solo Lloyd gel fuel freestanding fireplace. The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using Amazon for @25 years, buying items weekly, but don’t normally want to take my time writing reviews. But sometimes a product is exceptional and I feel that I have to. I love the ambiance of a lit fireplace but being older I just don’t enjoy hauling in wood and especially cleaning out ashes. Much less opening and closing the chimney damper between fires. This electric fireplace, however, is unreal in its design and lifelike appearance. I didn’t buy it for heating, which it does somewhat, but for the aesthetic feel of a fireplace. Has a remote control and it digitally displays the different settings(temperature, flame size, timer, etc.) on the back inside wall of your fireplace. Like an alarm clock that displays the time on your bedroom ceiling. Again, unbelievable realism and mediocre heating. Heater blower creates a little sound but can be turned off or will cycle itself on and off. If you want to add even more to the illusion of a crackling fire, just ask Alexa to play fireplace sounds. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. we are re modeling our fireplace and this is perfect since we don’t plan on using real wood and fire. I would definitely recommend this product, it’s affordable and looks very nice.

    • Safely warms area, saves on heat pump bills
The media could not be loaded. This Duroflame electric fireplace has been used for several days of extremely cold nights and days. I like the remote control and especially the time controls. Warms up 25x26 family room so that heat pump thermostat can be lower. The BTUs are one of the highest in these type heaters. I already had another Duroflame electric heater that is over 3 years old that also has remote with temp and time settings. This one is used in bathroom or garage as needed. Would recommend these Duroflame products to anyone. ... show more
