Description
The red Duraflame Infrared Electric Fireplace Stove is easily portable, creates a life-like flame effect and produces the right amount of heat for virtually any room. The classically styled stove creates the look of a wood burning stove, but without any of the hassles or inconveniences. Creating a life-like, flickering flame effect, this stove will help you relax the second you plug it in and turn it on. The infrared heater supplements heat for rooms up to 1,000 Sq. Ft. - nearly double the amount of heat output compared to traditional fan-forced heaters. As a standalone heater, it will heat rooms up to 400 Sq. Ft. The heater and flame effects are independent of one another meaning you can enjoy the flames without heat during the warmer months and then when it gets cooler, you can have the flames with heat. Safe for kids and pets - stays cool to the touch. Requires no venting or gas lines. Includes an owner's manual and remote control with 2 AAA batteries. CSA safety certified. Model No: DFI-550-22

Perfect for a sunroom
Color: Red
I liked this unit so much, I am pending delivery of a second one in black. I can't speak to durability but the brand name is good. This unit is light weight (important to me as I'm disabled and can still move this about). I had a '3 season' sun-room added to the back of the house but there was no way to reasonably add it to the HVAC system so I've been heating it with a variety of those electric oil radiators. Basically I lost use of the room if it was much colder than 40F. This little champ has already tested out to be able to maintain 68F in my sun-room when the outside temps were 31F. Maybe it won't quite handle the teens, but we are seldom below 20F here so it's a major improvement! We also tested the unit in our converted garage (now a family room). Due to the HVAC layout, we have to close the vents there or there isn't quite enough to heat the rest of the house. Leaving the door open to the rest of the house makes it tolerable but chilly. No more! This is perfect for there too, hence I have a second unit, in a better color match, on order. It should be here 28 Dec 2018. Second unit is only different in color. On the questions on heat of the unit itself. It's cool enough on sides and top that my cat likes to sleep on it when running. We have it propped up a bit on some old bricks because I wasn't quite sure of a clearance with my high pile carpet but other reviewers say I am being overly cautious as they have them on bare wood or linoleum floors and it barely warms them with no bubbling. On the realistic level of the light display, I have a fireplace in the living room which we use to augment heat. From a few feet away, this heater unit looks pretty close to authentic. You can easily adjust the light level and when guests stayed in our family room, they dialed it down to a soothing night light. It is now Feb 2020 and I am just as delighted with the units I got as the day they arrived! The only issue I have had is a totally expected one. One of them had to have the light-bulb replaced, after 2 years of nearly continuous use (nice night light in a large rooms where the main switch is across it). Cost about 1$ a bulb and about 5 minutes. Maintains a sun-room (12ft x 13ft x7ft tall) at 70F in 32F temperature (solid ceiling and 1 wall, one insulated wall abuts rest of porch, 2 glass). Suspect those with issues didn't follow manufacturer directions to plug this directly into a 3 prong wall outlet, not off an extension cord.

Love this little heater, but...
Color: Cream
This little heater is great! Very cute, very nostalgic, and I really do love it, but the only thing I wish it had was a thermostat. It doesn't so it just runs and runs and runs. Which isn't a bad thing, until your room reaches 78 degrees while you're trying to sleep, too hot for me. So I moved it downstairs to my living room where I can adjust it while I'm in the room and just turn it off when I'm done. Really wish it had the thermostat, because the one that I bought to replace this one in my bedroom isn't nearly as cute, but will adjust to the thermostat at night while sleeping.

Perfect for our tiny house!!
Color: Cream
We’ve built ourselves a 400 sq ft tiny house inside our 2,500 sq ft pole barn over the last few years and knew this year we needed a better heat supply than the little space heaters we used last year. Although we heat the barn with a wood stove, we still needed something that was going to keep our inside space warm enough through the chilly winter and this heater works perfectly! We got it this week for the major cold front that came in and it put out so much heat (on low) last night that we needed to turn it off even though it was down below freezing outside! Very glad we bought this model, it fits the space nicely and I know our cats already enjoy it!

Surprisingly High-Quality Item!
Color: Red
OK, I'll be totally honest here - I really didn't think for the reasonable price of this little item that it would actually be such a well-built product. However, the many positive reviews it has received gave me the needed push to take a chance with it. And I'm happy to report that it greatly exceeded all my expectations! Basically I purchased it for the warm orange glow ambiance of a fireplace that adds so much to the overall atmosphere of a room - and the simulated fire of this wonderfull unit looks quite realistic, rather than the cheesy fake fire look of so many of these kinds of items. Its operation is virtually silent. The remote control is simple and very intuitive to use - as is the manual control panel on the actual unit itself. If you want it for the heater unit, it scores high in that category as well - though living in a hot area of the country I'll probably not use that particular feature all that much. But it's nice to know it's there if needed! The only assembly required is to simply attach the four legs at the bottom, which was simple and accomplished very quickly with a Phillips head screwdriver. Overall, I can whole-heartedly recommend this Duraflame Electric Fireplace. In fact, I'm thinking about buying another one to put in my bedroom as well!

Update: Now impressed
Color: Red
I wanted to update my original review. After running it for a few days it now heats the room sufficiently. I guess it might have needed a "warm up" period. I still think its over priced and you are paying for the "look" which is why i didnt give it a higher rating. Not impressed with this unit. I should have spent $30 on a heater from Walmart. For the cost and the size, its not effective in heating a room. My home is very small, think less than 600 sq ft and I've had this thing cranked up all the way for 48 hours now. The house is still cold, I still need heavy socks, I still need a blanket and sweater. The light up fire place is a cute idea but if the unit doesn't work than its just a total waste of energy and space. The heater blows at ground level. Save your money and go buy a small unit for $30. For something that doesnt work, it takes up a lot of space.

Super cozy addition
Color: Red
I am very happy with my purchase. Its been over a year now and I haven't had a single problem. I first placed and used it in my 5th wheel during the fall in the Montana mountains. Once back home I put it in my little at home office/classroom. It just makes everything warm and cozy. I only gave the remote control 4 stars because it doesn't let me adjust the temperature as well as I would like. I'm going to buy one of these now for my daughter who lives is a small apartment. I know space is a concern, but I think she will find it worthwhile once she enjoys the ambiance that it brings.
