The assembly took a better part of the day, one because of limited space and two because it was difficult to get it right side up by myself. First, I’d like to address the title of the fireplace specifically the term “wall mount”. Just so you know it does NOT mount to the wall. Although, I feel like the title insinuates it does, but maybe that’s just me. The instructions were VERY EASY to follow except one minor flaw on step 21. The item indicated as EE is in fact OO however referring to the item picture and the part list the confusion was over. Unfortunately that same part 00 had one defective item. As you can see by the photos, one is smaller in size which I just hot glue glued in place to make it work.Duraflame made it simple by separating materials in different boxes with each box indicating what part would be found inside. Personally, these were the best instructions I've seen in a long time. Overall, there were 47 steps of assembly, only because it's that detailed. After assembly and plugging it in it fired right up without any issues. The control panel and remote are both easy to read and understand. After running all day, the outside of the fireplace was cold to the touch other than the heat vent itself. It's quiet and although I wish it got hotter it blows warm air and was pleasant to stand in front of after being outside. It's of good quality, comparable to most pieces of furniture these days. It's strong and hopefully well built. To spend over $500 on an electric heater is mind blowing, but you're also investing in a new focal point and statement piece in your room. This isn't the heater you store away during summer month. The relaxing faux fire and night light is soothing and will be enjoyed throughout the year. I'm curious about how it will affect my power bill being it's my only source of heat. If I happen to get dizzy after I open the bill, I'll be sure to update the review. ... show more

    • Beautiful but broken

This is a beautiful unit. Assembly takes 2-3 hours for a savvy individual. There was one mislabeled part, and a few misaligned pilot holes, but no big deal. It went together great, and looks better than expected. My issue is that the flame effects don't work with my unit. Apparently, Duraflame doesn't manufacture these units. They license a company called "Twin Star Home" to manufacture them, and so I have to work with Twin Star's customer service. Twin Star has not been easy to work with. Their online ticketing system was broken, and it took me the better part of two hours to get a hold of someone on the phone. Their system kept hanging up on me after placing me on hold for 20+ minutes. I finally got through to someone. That person opened a ticket on my behalf. Two days later, I was just informed my ticket is now closed, and I need to call them back. I've already sent a description of the issue, along with pictures and a video. Disassembling and returning this unit is not feasible given its size and weight, but I may end up having to do that. ... show more

This is a nice piece of furniture. Yep, its furniture. Well built and weighs a lot. This is great to add a little ambience to your room, and is great for renters because it is self contained. Assembly took an afternoon and it is really a job for a couple of people unless you want to work for it. Once together it looks quite nice. The lights look pretty much like glowing coals and run via remote. The infrared heater works as it should. Some reviews mention it doesn't "warm the room", but that's not how infrared heaters work. Its similar to going outside on a cool day and feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin. This is perfect for sun lounges or "three season rooms" to take off the chill. ... show more

This is the fifth Duraflame fireplace I purchased and I love each one. They take about 2 hours to put together, and the instructions are clear and concise. This is a solid piece of furniture that really looks nice. Nothing cheap about this at all. As far as the heat, this does a nice job heating up a smaller/mid sized room. When sitting in close proximity to the heater, you really feel the heat and it warms you up almost instantly. I love the timer feature… it gives me peace of mind knowing that this is a great safety feature. I like that this one is roller and more narrow than the others and actually Mimics the look of a real fireplace. ... show more
