We did have a cold snap and was able to try it out, we were IMPRESSED! Very comparable to a wood burning stove, without all the mess. Came in different colors, but this one was $300 cheaper then the off white one I would have rather had, so will paint my living room walls instead. Remote sense the room temp, once in awhile it doesn’t kick the fireplace on (or off!) but just WOW! We have our 55” tv sitting on it, and it looks great! The media could not be loaded. This fireplace is gorgeous! Check out the video to see the real flames. The mantel is well made, and it was easy to assemble. We had a contractor attach the natural gas since we did not have gas running to the house until we purchased this unit. However, there is no remote control. The T-Stat control is a knob underneath the fireplace, but it is super easy to turn the knob up and down to adjust the flame. The pilot has a battery operated ignition so it will light even when the electricity is out. ... show more

Very attractive, but would not light. We had 3 professionals look at it, and they concluded (after 2 days troubleshooting to determine if there was air in the lines, a damaged orifice, excess pressure on our gas line, etc.) that it must have been shipped with a bad regulator. Gas could not make it from the supply line I provided through the unit and to the igniter (igniter works good). No customer service on weekend. 2 hr wait for customer service to take my call (second att. They offered to repair the regulator, but that would have taken 3 wks. We were using it as a replacement for our furnace that went out, so could not wait that long. No replacement available to exchange it with, so just had to get a refund and start over. Couldn't find anything quite as attractive or as inexpenive, unfortunately, but hopefully the new one will work! ... show more

This fireplace was fairly easy to assemble and produces a good amount of heat. The blower, however should be an integral part of the fireplace instead of an add on because it does distribute the heat efficiently. Without it, the fireplace would probably set off any smoke/carbon monoxide detector nearby. The quality of the woodwork is excellent and easily assembled. It is a very good product. The only negative was the delivery. Delivery promises made when the order was placed are not accurate - better to give the shipping company’s contact information initially instead of being in limbo. Received lots of compliments. Beautiful cabinet. We are saving lots of oil this month. Had to get past the smell of the paint on the logs, but with the blower, this fireplace really does heat our whole house. There was a problem with our first fire box. It would not stay lit. Luckily, Amazon sent another one & our Plumber came back to reinstall it at no charge. The new one is working fine so far. Love our fireplace !!! ... show more

We used it twice last year but due to chemical odor we had to turn off. Heat went out in Zero degree weather and it will not ignite. Very unhappy with the box. Mantle is beautiful but wish I had bought one with a remote.

Well, I have had it a year now so I feel I can write a review. I put this in an old house we have to keep it warm and dry during the winter. The cabinet is super built. Sturdy. Pretty. Went together pretty easy. The metal housing is very nice too. I do not like that you have to pull the whole cabinet out to hook / unhook the gas lines. It worked well for enough for a while except for the batteries going dead pretty fast. About a set every 6 to 8 weeks, even with "good ones". There are 2 major problems though. It is remote controlled and as I said the batteries would die. Once they seemed to die while the logs were on. The house was over 100 degrees when I came in to check one day! I could not turn them off by remote. Once I replaced the batteries it went back to working correctly, still eating batteries however. Now comes this season, wondering what to do. It got cool one night so I tried to turn them on, after replacing the batteries. There is a click but it does not come on. I read on some site where someone else had to replace the control unit for what sounded like the same problem. They are over a year old in all. I am wondering where I might get parts or if I even trust them to have them fixed. ... show more
