A game changer for shielding from the sun but large enough to allow air flow. Impressed with the ability to also give some privacy but able to view through the mesh. The ability to lower the awning and still maintain the screening in the rain is great! Haven’t had any major rain storms to worry about yet but I would plan to unzip the screen for safety sake. My RV slide out was always hot. And my air conditioning would run non stop when temps exceeded 85 degrees. The windows are not tinted. It was hard to keep the temperature below 80 on very hot sunny days. Until I discovered this awning screen. It threads in the gutter on the backside of the camper and is easy enough to do it alone. The windows and ceiling of the slide are no longer warm to the touch, and the camper stays at a comfortable, cool 73 degrees. I have it staked with fence posts for stability and view. I have had winds up to 15 MPH so far and it stays put. An added bonus-it keeps leaves and pollen off my slide, allowing water to run off unencumbered. If a storm is coming, I release the ratchets and snug the screen up against the camper. So far it shows very little sign of wear. I know this is not the intended use, but if you have these same issues I encourage you to try this. I am impressed with the awning and the shade and temperature drop it provides.

***Update: they replaced our shade quickly. The replacement was in excellent condition and has worked beautifully since! It’s now almost June and it’s been perfect thru all kinds of weather and lots of up and down, also because of weather. For this price point, you really can’t go wrong! (Unless it’s falling apart, but get that replaced asap) We checked so many different options and this one came with the best reviews of its quality and awesome shade. Being in Florida, shade is a MUST! We purchased this as a Christmas gift to ourselves and found it was super easy to install, it even came with tie downs (I purchased others separately but didn’t need) and provided amazing shade. As soon as we installed it, we saw a slight gap in the sewing. We went to take it down when we were going out (as we don’t leave it out when not home) and the zipper snapped right off. So two failure points with less than a week of it being up. Would like to try a replacement vs just a return, and will update from there. For now, I gets all the stars for shade but brings it down to ONE star because it didn’t even last a week.

This earning sunscreen was so easy to install, it fit perfect, looks great on! Best of all you can unzip the top 2 feet from the bottom and have a shorter one until the sun gets too late in the day then as the sun gets brighter under your awning. You add the zipper on Part and Walla! Perfect shade. Good value for the money!

If you own an rv with an awning you NEED this. Product review. Ease to put in was rough only because our rv awning had a tight space to slide in the track. The material is fantastic and not cheap. We own a 23 foot minnie winnie and the 14 foot shade was perfect. Unzip the awning befor instalation. Once the shorter portion is installed you never had to do that part again. Just zip on the long part and viola you have shade. Easily cools space that makes a notable difference. Shorter portion rolls up with the awning and its a game changer for hot weather. Go Cougs!
