  • Love this so much!!!
Style: Single Shot - 2.25" Barrel
Love this SO MUCH! I have thick, curly (think frizzy with any humidity) hair and this hairdryer not only cuts my drying time but it leaves my hair smooth and frizz free. Even in humid weather it’s just like a chill pill for my head of hair. Still have body and you can even curl it a bit when drying but it’s controlled! LOVE!! I’ll need to be committed if it’s ever discontinued. I do need to get a new one every couple of years but my hair gives it its run for the money. Highly recommend!!! ... show more

  • Must have!!!!
Style: Single Shot - 2.25" Barrel
Have Had the single shot since 2021 and it’s still going strong, I even dropped it a few times!!!! I will a million times recommend this product, I do my hair in 20 minutes like you see in every picture, as a hair stylist I wanted something quick and easy for personal use as I can not use a hair dryer and round brush on my self, I’ve tried other round brush products like revlon and they do not work like this one I have super dense and coarse/ medium to long hair just for reference, it also helps to use correct products for specifics like heat protector and frizz control, I only use leave in conditioner and heat protector, I’m about to purchase the half shot as I have short hair now so can’t wait to review that on, hope this review helps! ... show more

  • A good investment
Style: Single Shot - 2.25" Barrel
Actual rating of 4.5 stars. I received the Drybar Single Shot on April 3, 2023. The packaging was fine and it looked brand new, which was a relief because I’d seen reviews posted about people getting used products with hair still in the bristles. Yikes! Why I chose Drybar: I watched a lot of comparison videos before I decided on Drybar. I’m okay with splurging a little on something I consider an investment in myself (because how my hair looks affects my confidence), so while the price tag on this brand raised my eyebrows a little, it wasn’t a deal breaker. The biggest thing I looked at was heat damage, because I don’t want to fry my hair. Time and again, the Drybar brand one came back as the one that caused the least amount of damage to hair when used long term (as in a year or more), even compared with a certain less pricey brand that went viral. How it’s going: By the end of my daily workout, my hair is drenched with sweat from my roots to the tip of my ponytail. I’m pretty sure no dry shampoo exists that can help with that situation, so I have to wash my hair (and my body!) every day or it looks, feels, and smells awful. I’ve only had the Single Shot a little over a month, but I use it every day and I haven’t noticed any damage as far as breakage or abnormal hair loss, and my color (dark brown with red highlights) doesn’t seem to fade as fast with the Drybar as when I use my Brazilian Blowout hairdryer. A caveat: I do put heat/UV protective products in my hair before using the Drybar or the hairdryer. If I wasn’t already happy with my current heat/UV products I’d probably try the Drybar products. I still might. There’s really only one way to find out if something works for you, right? Technical notes: My hair is shoulder length, straight, and while it’s not super thick there’s a lot of it. The Single Shot (combined with the aforementioned heat/UV products) leaves my hair smooth and bouncy with a great shine, and it does it quickly, as in 15 minutes on high. I haven’t timed it on low, but I imagine it would only take a few extra minutes. Someone with thick or curly hair might need longer for their hair to dry, but still probably not an unreasonable amount of time. It’s not so heavy that it gets uncomfortable to me, although for someone with wrist or muscular issues it might be different story. Some reviews posted said it was loud, but even set on high I don’t find the noise level terrible; it’s quieter than my hairdryer on high. I wouldn’t expect this tool to be whisper quiet anyway. The Drybar does get hot, but not uncomfortably so, although I haven’t tried running it for long periods of time. Low and high setting seem to have the same amount of heat just differing force of air blowing through and different noise levels. True to the other posted reviews, the cool setting doesn’t blow cool air. I take half a star for that because even though it’s not something I use, at this price point I expect every feature to work. Care and maintenance: The Single Shot is easy to clean; I have something called “The Brush Brush” that I run over it every few uses and it keeps it looking new without taking any of the yellow tips off. Storing it in the box isn’t convenient for frequent use and I feel like if it lays down between uses the bristles will bend, so I purchased a hair tool holder with a space wide enough for the Drybar to stand up on its end and keep the weight off the bristles. So far it’s worked great, and because it has multiple spaces it’s kept my other hair tools (and their looong cords) organized and neat. All in all, I’m happy with my purchase. I feel like Drybar makes a product worth investing in and would buy it again, even with the cool shot issue. ... show more

  • very disappointed :(
Style: Single Shot - 2.25" Barrel
I’ve had this device in my shopping cart for months! I was really excited to finally order it. I mainly chose Drybar because I read it has more temperature control and won’t get above 250 degrees. I’ve had the similar Revlon product for a few years and it actually burnt off a chunk of my (then bleached) hair back in 2020, so temperature/damage control was important to me when picking a new blow dry brush. That said, this thing got so hot!! Much hotter than I would like, it felt like the same temperature as the revlon after it was running for a few minutes. My biggest issue is that my hair kept getting caught between the top of the gray brush part and the yellow cap. Even once I was aware of it and being more careful + taking smaller sections, it was hard to avoid and it ripped a lot of my hair out, breaking the ends and also ripping some hair from my scalp. Finally, my hair did not even come out very good. I’m familiar with this type of device and how to use it. But my ends came out all frizzy when they should be nice and smoothed down. Overall my hair came out shiny, but not smooth with tons of flyaways. All that said, I did appreciate how lightweight the dryer is, the long cord, and the way it swivels easily. But I will be returning this. I’m wondering if a hair dryer purchased direct from Drybar would be better than from Amazon. I might consider trying that. I tried to take pictures of the strands of hair caught in the brush and how my hair turned out. I would typically expect it to look much smoother than it did turn out. After going back and brushing my hair with a regular brush, the last pic looks okay, but you can zoom in to see all the flyaway hairs curving out. I did use leave-in conditioner and a smoothing blow dry mist/heat protectant from Kristin Ess which usually works great. ... show more

  • Nice Quality
Style: Single Shot - 2.25" Barrel
I thought I would want the round brush for my shoulder length hair since the website recommended it. In the end, after trying a friends oval one, I like the oval one better. I returned this one and exchanged it for the Hot Tools oval one at a much better price but the quality of this one is excellent and very light to hold. ... show more

  • This thing is AMAZING!
Style: Single Shot - 2.25" Barrel
I hardly ever write reviews but ran to write this IMMEDIATELY after using the blow dry brush. I am in absolute shock 🤯 I’ve hesitated to order this for months and considered a Dyson product thinking it may be better quality. The Amazon Prime Day deal got me with almost $50 off the original price so I impulsively hit “Buy Now”. It arrived in the mail yesterday and I already felt a sense of regret and thought back on the early 2000’s when I was in high school with frizzy curly hair and wasted so much money on hot tools promising to give you silky straight hair in no time at all. (Remember the wet to dry straighteners 🤦🏻♀️) I was mad at myself over the impulse purchase. For the last 10 years I’ve used a blow dryer followed by a straightener for an almost 60-75 minute hair routine. My hair is a massive poof ball of fuzz after I dry it for reference. I had this sinking feeling this hot tool was another gimmick and I wasted money hoping it would be one to actually deliver. I tested it out this morning and cannot believe the results. I have lots of very fine curly hair with these random wiry curls at my crown since having a baby three years ago. This round brush dryer straightened my hair and made it smooth in just under 30 minutes. All I did was work in some blow dry heat protectant after my shower, section off my damp hair in small sections with clips, and use the brush to dry with some tension. Every single section came out perfectly!!!! I honestly wanted to cry because this is going to save me so much time in the morning on days I go into the office, and I can pack away my straightener that leaves my hair smelling fried no matter how many products I use to protect it. I hated shower days after straightening my hair because it smelled burnt when wet despite being two days after straightening it. No burnt smell at all with this product! This completely transformed my curls that start at the root of my hair into bouncy straight hair in under 30 minutes. I added an old photo of my curls with faces blurred for reference because I didn’t think to take a before photo, I expected this to be a dud. It’s incredible, buy it, it’s not a gimmick! I will say by the last 2-3 front sections my wrist was a little tired but nothing more than how I feel after blow drying my hair with a normal hair dryer. I did not find this product heavy at all, I think it’s more using muscles I never used to turn the hair dryer to create tension as it dries. I’m confident over time I won’t even notice it anymore. If you have chronic fatigue or joint pain in your writs you may find the motion bothersome, but I would not attribute that to the weight of the hair tool. There was also that new plastic product smell when it first got hot out of the box, but after running it for a few minutes that was entirely gone. Don’t be alarmed by it. If you’ve been on the fence, just buy it. It’s hands down the best tool I’ve bought in my 30+ years of life to straighten my curly hair. ... show more

  • Absolutely Love It!
Style: Single Shot - 2.25" Barrel
I cannot believe i waited so long to get this tool! It is fantastic! I am a big user of Dyson products so it took me a while to be convinced to by Drybar. However, this changed my morning routine big time. It is so easy to style curtain bangs! I usually still blow dry roots of my hair and then use Single shot to dry and style it. It is so easy and quick. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Won’t purchase again
Style: Single Shot - 2.25" Barrel
I have purchased 2 Drybar Blow-Dryers. The first one worked great and then started to get very hot with each use despite keeping the brus h clean. The cord then started to malfunction, making a short electrical noise each time I used it so I stopped. There was no damage to the cord. I had this dryer for just over a year. The second Drybar Blow-Dryer worked great initially, then started to get very hot like the first one. I was in the middle of using it and it stopped working and would not turn back on even once it cooled down completely. In the garbage it went. I had this one less than 10 months. This is not an inexpensive dryer and even though it makes your hair look great, it’s a waste of money. I decided to purchase a different brand and a more reliable hair dryer. ... show more
