I was looking for a tarp to replace the HD one that finally started to get some holes after 2 or 3 years on the wood pile. While this swatch did measure 7mil, I wouldn't consider this to be a medium duty tarp. I put this on my wood pile a little over a week ago and it is is already showing signs of wear. This might be OK for a flat surface but the irregular shape of a wood pile seems to be putting stress on it. Honestly I will be surprised if this makes it to spring. At this point though I will just live with it, but I will look locally for one next spring so I can actually see what I am getting. ****Spring update: it barely made it to spring...spend your money elsewhere. While I don't think the initial spots of wear I saw are leaking, there are tons of places all over this that appear to be delaminating. I don't think they used UV stabilizers because it is just falling apart. In contrast and old pool winter cover that was used for 4 years was put down on the ground in this same area two years ago to keep the weeds down and it is in much better shape than this tarp. Next time I will buy locally or just use a pool winter cover. **** One year update. I just went to move some firewood up for the winter and found all the wood to be wet and not just where this tarp got shredded. It must be leaking just about every where. I ended up tossing a bunch of wood because it was very wet which encouraged bugs to you invade. Some maybe salvageable but not worth going through until I have a good cover. ... show more

Didn't even last the winter as a cover to a 10 ft round easy set pool. Had it propped up in the middle with the pool ladder and blow up pillows, tied down to the ground. Right before getting ready to remove it, tore thru the top, rendering it completely useless. Totally destroyed. Expensive for 8 months use. ... show more

Construction quality appears to be good, though this is the first season I'll be using it. My application is covering a small outdoor garden hardening shelter, to provide protection during the winter. I bought this to cover my outdoor furniture in the winter. I used the grommets to attach weights so it wouldn't fly away. I got about 9-10 months of consistent use out of it, leaving it outdoor in the sun and rain for that entire time. Around the 9-10 month mark, holes started appearing, and when I put it in the trash today it was totally desintigrating. However, we get hot summers here, and I bought this expecting to only get 1 year of use out of it. Wished it would at least last a full 12 months outdoors, but it largely served it's purpose. Much cheaper than buying specific furniture covers which would fall apart the same way. ... show more

This thing sucks, we put it over our firewood, even folded it in half so it was doubled up and it literally absorbs the water and the rain went right through so all our wood is wet.

This is very strong tape. It may not be waterproof, but definitely is water resistant. Be sure you want it where you apply it, because it is tough to remove!

    • Exceptionally large tarp for reasonably low price

This is a nice large tarp for a low price. I've used it on several camping trips, and it performed exactly as I had hoped. What I love about this tarp is that it's big enough to completely cover my large 6-man tent, and still have enough room to create a covered sitting area in front of the tarp. Note: you'll need to provide your own rope, stakes, or poles. If it's a windy day, you'll need to stake it down quite securely, because the tarp's large size can really catch the wind and balloon up. One nice feature is that the tarp has tons of grommets spaced evenly around all 4 edges. It makes for very convenient tie-down, as there's always a grommet close to where you need one. At first the tarp's weight felt a bit flimsy and light, but over a summer of camping it hasn't developed any rips or tears, so it's not something I can complain about. ... show more
