  • If you or your loved one needs a Scooter, this is it.
I searched for a while for a Medical Scooter for my 70 year old mother. I knew I wanted something easy, compact, good battery, and visually pleasing. We used to go out and have fun all the time, always having adventures, but as she got older, her arthritis and knee issues began to kick in. We'd go to a store and either have to decide to go in if there was a working mobility cart or a wheelchair which embarrassed her. There places she wants to go but can't because she can't walk it without pain. A cane only goes so far. She fought me for a while on getting a scooter, so when I had the chance, I got one for her. After her first visit to the store and she found the rabbit speed, she was zipping through aisles, completely enjoying herself. My husband and I literally had to run to keep up. We live in GA and she is now looking forward to visiting the GA Aquarium, going to malls, seeing the Zoo, seeing different botanical gardens, and more now. Before having this scooter, she would dream about such things, but didn't want to be a burden, so she stayed home, which I can tell was eating at her. I wanted her to enjoy things again instead of viewing from the sidelines. She likes how the scooter looks, it comes apart in about 6 pieces, fits in the back of our Dodge Caliber no problem. It is a tad heavy and she can't pick it up, but that's what my husband and I are here for. It is easy to take apart and put together. The scooter box came fine and intact. Instructions easy. The steering wheel is easily adjustable. It has turtle slow speed to rabbit fast speed (and it is pretty fast if you are walking like a regular person) If the battery does die, there is a lever on the bottom back right that can put it in neutral for steering (don't press it while it's on, it'll beep for a little bit until it goes back in place and key is off for more than 10-15 seconds). I charged the battery right away, and we went about 2 weeks before it lost 1 to 2 battery bar/dots. I do want to get another set of batteries that are longer lasting for when we do explore more later on. I did order a 12v 20AH batteries, but had to return them because they did not go with this scooter (I ordered them because in the Question and Answer section someone answered that one can get extra batteries in 12v 20AH but forgot to mention that it needs to be specific and you NEED to get the battery box to go with it as the 20AH batteries will be taller, that is about another 200-300 dollar purchase). My husband tested it for a little bit to see where my mom may go overboard. He learned the 3 wheel scooter does, in fact, pop a wheely AND can tip over if turning too fast. He recommends a speedometer on because he wants to know just how fast rabbit speed is. Overall no complaints, super happy with the purchase. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • No Good for constant use
If you can walk but have difficulty, maybe this thing will get you around ever once and a while, but if you’re really wheelchair bound fully, in need of a scooter to use as your only means to get around. I use mine only at home (I use a manually chair when I go out), but all the time at home, and I’ve been through 3 of them since 2018. What’s happened to me, after 2, maybe 3 years, the charger dies or the battery stops taking a charge, and then the entire scooter is just useless. Replacement batteries from Drive are around $300, and Drive doesn’t even sell chargers separately. I tried an imitation brand battery, but it stopped taking a charge after about a year. The imitation brand charger I once bought never worked at all. And after learning all this, consider that Drive only gives you a year warranty. ... show more

  • Don't wait...this scooter has been a good send 👍
I love love love my scooter. My knee went out and this has given me my freedom back. We call her Maxine and she goes everywhere with me. I've had her about two months and we've went on a 4 day cruise, to the part, zoo, malls, casinos and a lot more places. She has not failed me yet. My knee is getting better but Maxine would be disappointed if she couldn't go with us so for now she's always in my Rogue ready to travel. One of my best purchases ever. ... show more

So maneuverable I can use it in our house, which isn't large and has plenty of furniture.

  • Best Travel Scooter
Purchased this Scout 2 years ago & it was worth every penny! We did purchase the larger battery, because we needed the extra hours. Great in the theme parks!
