Description

The Drive Medical Foldable Rollator Walker is a fully functional yet highly portable walker that easily folds to half the size of a traditional walker and can be stored in an included "Ready Set Go" pouch. A great folding walker for travel or everyday use, it folds through a pull-up, trigger-release folding mechanism that allows the user to close the walker without removing their hands from the handles. The legs are attached with strong elastic cords for easy storage and transportation. The 5-inch front wheels and rear glide skis provide smooth transportation over most surfaces. Other features include softer, ribbed and contoured handgrips to relieve hand pressure when using the walker, and a lightweight aluminum frame for maximum strength and durability. • THE ONLY travel walker that is worth the price
When broken down, it fits perfectly in my checked luggage. I unpacked the box, and removed all the protective paper, then set it up to fit my height. Then wrote down what holes were for each leg, to adjust the height. THEN I tore it back down, and made it even easier to pack by removing the entire bottom leg portion. It weights over 7 pounds, so I took the little plastic storage bags off of it. I think a cloth bag would be better. Those side bags are plastic, so when outside they would get pretty darn hot. It would be nice to have a water bottle holder included. ... show more

  • Excellent device.
This is a fine walker. I've edited this review after I'd found that the hook & loop material on the side pockets had been applied correctly. Initially, I'd put a heavy load in one pocket that exceeded its carrying capacity, and I'd gotten confused as to how to remount it. My mistake, and if anyone read that earlier review, I apologize. I would note that in choosing a walker, I'd take account of the surface you'll most often be operating on. Most of my house is wood floor, so I'm a bit uncomfortable with only 2 wheels, and skids on the back legs. I should have ordered a walker with 4 wheels (and some sort of hand brake to keep from rolling?), so as to not drag the skids on the wood. I've gone the tennis ball route, and that cures any scuffing. If I modify the walker further, it will be to put larger rubber wheels on to replace the hard plastic wheels. ... show more

  • Travels well
I rated this walker 4 stars because it travels well, but not 5 stars because its stability is not perfect. I like it because it is compact in its carrying bag, works well, is high quality and looks good. I recommend it to anyone who wants to travel with a walker, except for people in the upper percentiles of height or weight. I bought this walker for a 5'-4" (162cm) 135lb (61kg) woman. We wanted to travel with a collapsable transport chair and a walker. Her old folding walker is too tall to carry easily even with the telescoping legs removed. I like the Drive walker for travel because it is very easy to carry while also carrying other baggage. It folds up into a zippered carrying bag (included) so dimensions are 22"x16"x4" (56cm x 41cm x 10cm). This was compact enough to qualify as carry-on luggage on our flight, and it didn't count toward my carry-on limit because it is a mobility device. (We also had the option of checking it for pick-up and drop-off at the boarding gate, bypassing baggage claim.) After two week's experience using the new walker I asked her for an opinion. She said "I like the Drive walker, but it is not quite as steady as the old walker I used at home." The Drive walker is more compact than the old folding walker because of the Drive walker's second, higher sleeve in each leg. That leaves a shorter upper section when the legs are folded up. To accomplish this, the lower side and lower front cross-braces of the old walker are not included in the design of the Drive walker. Despite the stronger single front cross-brace, lack of the three lower cross-braces evidently compromises stability somewhat. ... show more

  • Use
I plan on having knee surgery in July. This was easy to put together and adjust the height. Then it was easy to breakdown and store in the bag that came with it.

  • Best walkers we own. I bought one for my mom and one for me.
I purchased two of these almost three years ago and they are the best walkers. I have serious medical and mobility problems and so do my parents. I often have to use an electric wheelchair, but because I need to stay as ambulatory as possible I use a walker or cane on my better days. I have a tissue dysplasia, two skeletal dysplasias, and PsA. My parents also have similar health problems and I am the one who picks them up to take them to their doctor appointments. Because we all have joint problems, and are unable to lift much weight these walkers are perfect. They are space saving, light weight, fold easily, portable, and are sturdy. I am able to lift and slide them into my van behind the driver seat with ease. They are easy to fold to get them out of the way in a tight space. For example you can fold it and lean it against the back of your chair or wall in a doctor office. They fit through narrow spaces and doors better than many walkers. Both my mom’s walker and mine have held up well with all the use and abuse including the light red finish. I replaced the skis on the back of my mom’s walker with Funski glides by Vamp Medical and rehab inc. they are round plastic ball skis that do not catch on rugs or other transitions. Also, unlike tennis balls they can be wiped clean. Both of our walker’s front wheels have held up well and show minimal wear. I going to replace my walker skis as well with the Funski brand. In conclusion if you don’t have to worry about shoulder or back problems and have good upper body/core strength you can get away with a walker that you lift as you go or even one with a seat. However, for individuals with significant mobility and joint problems I recommend this walker. I should also mention I have another walker that I don’t use because it is too heavy and is extremely difficult to fold. My parents have another walker with a seat that my mom uses only out in her garage to move items from the house to the car or to the trash cans. However, that is all they use it for because it is heavy and difficult to fold. It also takes up too much space and does not fit into my van because I have a wheelchair lift. It only fits into a trunk, and would require the assistance of a strong individual to lift it in and out of a trunk. It is also larger and hard to maneuver in tight spaces and through doors. ... show more
